About this deal

The AT-LP60-BT is equipped with a transparent cover to protect your equipment from dust. The cover can be removed at any time. Two Colour Options

Moving up the turntable ladder (which, mark our words, you will do sooner or later), Audio-Technica has the considerably pricier, three-speed, direct-drive AT-LP120, which offers all the features of the 60 and quite a bit more. It’s not fully automatic and requires more physical involvement on the part of the listener, which some purists find to be a pleasure in itself. This is a feature that does not come as standard on the LP60. But there is a USB version of the LP60 whitas well. The AT-LP60USB. 15. Colors All you need to do on the LP60 is basically to place the turntable platter and attach the rubber belt that connects the motor and the platter. Then connect the cables and you are ready to go. While being a nicely deigned affordable turntable, the LP60 just can’t catch up with the wow factor of its bigger brother. And frankly, not many turntables can. 2. Ease of Use

This is by no means the worst entry-level turntable we’ve heard, but sadly it doesn’t quite reach the standard of many previous Audio-Technica attempts. If you want to digitize your records the LP120 comes with a USB port that makes it possible to connect the turntable to a computer via USB and digitize records with a dedicated software program.

Connect the USB enabled device to a PC or Mac with an available USB port (USB 1.1 or higher) and use the included software to preserve your records in a digital file format. The recording software converts tapes and records into digital recordings or even CDs. You can also change the speed or pitch of a recording. This way, the record player's quality can live on and be appreciated for many more years to come. The advantage of having a receiver is that you can control the volume through a remote control and you can also connect other devices you may already have. There are many receivers, but they are usually expensive and many modern receivers don’t have a PHONO input, which should not be a problem because the AT-LP has a built in pre-amp. I chose the Sherwood ones because they are affordable.

AT-LP60-USB

LINE– This unit has a built in preamplifier for convenience to the user because many amplifiers or home stereo systems nowadays don’t have a PHONO input. Remember to set the preamp selector switch to LINE if you want to connect your player to a LINE or Auxiliary input. The fully automatic turntable has two speeds (33 1/3, 45 RPM) so you can enjoy your vinyl records at a pace, and level, which suits you. Unfortunately my LP60-USB had only 33 and 45 play speeds, and no option to mount a 78-compatible stylus. You don’t have to use Audacity if you don’t like it. You can use any recording software for that purpose. If you find Audacity difficult to use, try other recording software and tools. There are many out there. Just to name a few: Other similarities between the two are that they both have built-in phono preamps which makes it straight forward to connect them to any receiver or active speakers. And your records will be totally safe because none of these turntables have reputation for destroying records. As some inexpensive record players, in general, have been accused of.

The Audio Technica AT-LP60is the perfect record player for anyone who wants high-quality performance on a budget. In return, you give up almost all features you get with most competitors. If you are on the search for a new affordable turntable, then two of the models that probably show up most often when you browse the internet are the AT-LP60 and the AT-LP120 from Audio-Technica. However, the Audio-Technica’s real party-piece, though, is its ability to connect wirelessly to your system, smart speaker or similar. And the most significant upgrade here over the old AT-LP60BT is the appearance of aptX Bluetooth standard wireless streaming – hence the “X” in the model name. Being able to stream at this kind of standard is an obvious plus-point – as long as the Audio-Technica is doing its analogue-to-digital conversion effectively, of course. PC and Mac compatible, Audacity can convert audio from vinyl to MP3, WAV or other digital formats, preserving the quality of the original source. AccessoriesYou’ll find that some of the other applications are just as complicated as Audacity if not more, and you’ll have to buy them. I’m sure there are other options but this list is enough for the majority of users. If I find better options I’ll make sure to update this post. Sound Quality The AT-LP60-USB will get your classic albums out of the box and into your MP3 player. Bringing quality and audio fidelity in to the mix, you’ll be able to continue listening to the classics for decades more to come. Now, the Lepai LP-2020A is just an amplifier. The big price difference between the Lepai and the other receivers is because the Lepai doesn’t have any of the features of a receiver. No remote control, sorround sound, multiple inputs, equalization, AM/FM radio. It’s just a small box that lets you connect your turntable to a pair of bookshelf speakers and control the volume, treble and bass.
