About this deal

In other words, there aren’t too many devices out there that don’t support Bluetooth or streaming in some capacity. For instance, The S10 essentially takes a digital signal from Bluetooth, WiFi, or direct from USB, and converts it into audio into an active speaker, an older receiver, or an older analog-only preamp. Arylic decided to invest in, and create an interesting streamer that's about as affordable as Pi alternatives are, but which is much easier to program, use and which has a solid design, with Arylic excellent support behind. Arylic is one of the few companies, like HIFIMAN, who provides good and direct support for their products, including excellent aftermarket support, with good build quality and excellent customer communication Außerdem habe ich in die Front der Boombox kleine, runde Lichtleiter eingesetzt, damit die Fernbedienungssignale rein, und das Licht der Zustands-LED raus kommen kann. Die Fernbedienung ist in dem Zusammenhang Gold wert! As a guy who uses tech pretty much every day, I found the setup was quite cumbersome and not really all that responsive. In any event,

Here’s the bottom line on this little streamer with regards to sound quality; it’s not going to wow you with its sonic attributes but nor is it going to offend you overly if you play with the very basic onboard EQ settings. I wouldn’t choose it as my day to day streamer in our main system as it’s simply outclassed by the other equipment and they highlight it shortcomings, but with something like the Acoustic Energy AE1 Actives (a very good speaker system in its own right) I think you’d be hard pushed to find too much fault in it – with the caveats that I’ve mentioned. Very accessible retail price, ideal for a budget set-up; fuss-free operation; supports major music streaming services.Greetings mate and Welcome aboard! Stuart Charles here, HomesStudioBasics.com helping YOU make sound decisions leading to a beautiful audio experience that will make you fall in love with music (NOT gear) all over again, so… Video Discussion With connect services such as Spotify connect etc. the app does offload the processes to the Streamer and the streamer (S10 in this case) does the processing. Arylic S10 is full of useful features and I’m not going to even try to cover all of these in detail since it would take forever. I’ll mention the most important ones and how they worked during the test instead.

Where the S50 Pro worked best for me was when doing stereo duties in the living room’s AV system. Connected directly to a power amp fed via RCA analogue from an Android TV box and WiFi for Internet, it found substantial use via Spotify Connect and enhanced the sound of every TV programme I was watching. Compared to the S10, there is a big step up in every performance aspect. But here’s the rub – does it approach standards that are acceptable to serious hi-fi aficionados? For Bluetooth, just go to your phone’s settings and search for it. It should come up as “SoundSystem_3B92.” S10 is able to decide FLAC, Mp3, AAc, ALAC, APE and WAV, and up to 24bit / 192kHz signals, weighing in about 200 grams. The remote works pretty nicely, and you will need to use the 4 Stream app with it. I found the app to be pretty awful for me, since it is slow, and the UI is cluttered with useless options, pretty complicated to get what you need it to do, but also fairly bug-free compared to the majority of APPs for Streamers. Setting S10 up takes about 20 minutes and once it is set up, everything works fairly well. I have to say that the performance is very good indeed. The Arylic S10 (confusing having two S10s to refer to here!), acquits itself brilliantly I feel – I have it hooked up to a Tisbury passive preamp and thereafter to a pair of AVI ADM 9RSS active speakers. The sound from the flac rips are as they should, full of the detail as it came off the original source CD. I run a Premium Spotify account with the audio set to the highest quality setting and again am very impressed. when attempting to switch to Bluetooth from Wi-Fi, it’s a real pain and doesn’t want to cooperate very much.

Ps I sideloaded google play onto Kindle Fire so now the Tunes are on permanent display and controllable there and on iPhone at same time. Sound-wise, there’s not much to say about the S10 other than it works exactly as it should. To be frank, it’s hard to see audiophiles getting excited over this except for the fact that it “gives the smarts” to the hi-fi rig.

The Pro V3 board has two siblings. The simplified version saved from not having audio in, USB in, and Ethernet connectivity, I2S output is retained so audio quality upgrade path is still there, and this can be a better choice for speaker build. The more elaborated version includes optical/digital port and an upgraded DAC, which can be a better choice for a streaming amp build. Both will be tested in the near future. like for example it has a webserver with a nice interface that sometimes does not update. (eg. eq settings) For file compatibility, they do FLAC, MP3, AAC, ALAC, APE and WAV files, up to a high 24-bit/192kHz resolution! On top of that, they also support Apple AirPlay, DLNA, UPnP, Spotify Connect and Qplay. Both are also WiFi-enabled and there’s also a free Apple and Android control app (called 4Stream) available. Also available are LAN and USB inputs (but for pen drives only, not HDDs) as well as Bluetooth connectivity (aptX HD on the S50 Pro). I wanted to see if the S10 would work with my receiver using universal ports and I’m happy to report that it does. Do keep in mind that these services are available through the app; they don’t have anything to do with the unit itself.
