About this deal

Viskas paslaptis atskleista. Ir kaip jaučiamės? Everything changes when she encounters a young woman in the woods and makes a life-altering promise. This commitment will shape the trajectory of her existence forever.

Women need a partner to be happy, right? It doesn't matter Merry has two healthy children, a succesful business, inner peace now Bobby is no longer a threat and reconnected in only positive ways with her siblings. No, girl needs a man. The beautiful recluse who must learn to love again – set in La Belle Epoque of 1920’s Rio and Paris, and present-day Lake Geneva.

Viskas krenta be didelių problemų. Žvaigdžių pagalba? I tried so hard to find something to like about this book as it came highly recommended by a friend (I'm sorry Laura, I really tried!), but in the end I found it way too problematic: I bought the first book in this series on a whim a few years ago and ended up completely captivated by it, working my way through the rest of the series until I had caught up with what had been published. The last three years have seen the latest book as a Christmas present, a tradition I have come to enjoy. I was saddened to read about her death last year. Her son Harry Whittaker will be writing the last book in the series (I'll link the article at the end of my review). Her note at the end of this book mentioning her plans for the eighth book felt especially sad to read knowing she didn't have time to write it. Well...well...well....what an enjoyable ride this was. Lucinda Riley managed to keep me fully engrossed in this tale of the oldest sister, Maia. I loved how the clues were managed and, most importantly, that this series will only rely on telling each sister's story separately. Therefore, you really get to know where each one came from, their past and present story. This one focused on Maia and great-grandmother, Bel. How I loved Bel and her destiny. Her story was a pleasure and, also, painful to hear but I loved it nonetheless. Awe...Laurent:) I also loved Lake Geneva, Atlantis, Rio, and Paris. Reading is the only way I can travel these days, & I'm so happy that I got to go to some exotic places! Very well written, great story, loved the characters, the places....well, just about everything! I definitely can't wait to hear the rest of the sisters stories! And, of course, getting to read/reveal all the secrets surrounding them and Pa Salt. Shortly before the publication of The Missing Sister , Lucinda announced an eighth and final book in The Seven Sisters series, promising to answer the question at the heart of the story: Who is Pa Salt? Before her death, Lucinda was able to write several important passages and detailed notes on the story. She expressed a clear wish that her eldest son, Harry, should complete the series if the worst were to happen.

Meanwhile, a century earlier, an independent and headstrong woman named Flora MacNichol makes a vow to never marry. Content and secure in her Lake District home near her idol, Beatrix Potter, Flora’s life takes an unexpected turn when circumstances beyond her control force her to London, where she becomes entangled with Alice Keppel, a prominent figure in Edwardian society. Caught between passionate love and familial obligations, Flora becomes a pawn in a game orchestrated by others. It is only through a mysterious encounter with a gentleman that Flora uncovers the answers she has been seeking all her life. I have adored this series mainly for its historical value and the history was exactly what got me through. Ireland has an interesting political history and these parts of the novel are what kept me reading and not tossing it across the room. I was disappointed/ irritated when I had to leave the past and re-enter the present. I loved both Ambrose and Father O’Brien. Their relationship was a joy to observe and it was the only one that I thought felt authentic. The Storm Sister is the second book in the Seven Sisters series. It tells the story of Ally D’Aplièse, a young woman who is just starting to discover who she is. Ally is about to participate in a perilous yacht race when news about her adoptive father’s demise reaches her. She rushes to meet her five sisters at home, where she discovers that her billionaire father has left her clues to her true heritage. These changes come at the worst of times. Ally is the middle of a passionate love affair that will completely alter her destiny. There are more questions raised in this book than were answered. We don't learn anything outside of Mary's childhood and even that story is not completed, because we still don't know her true identity. Pa Salt’s story is a disappointment. I had expected more from the man. I mean all he did was receive an enormous inheritance from his granny which turned him into this superrich dude. Not his own hard grafting whatsoever. An what did he do with his time? All he seems to have done is travel all over the globe collecting a score of babies. People seem to hand over babies to this guy like there are no rules for adoption whatsoever. Tearing infant twins apart? No problem. People give up children for adoption like it’s absolutely nothing all over the place. Maia seems to have had no problem with giving up hers.

At the final part of the book, the storyline with Merry and Peter was just plain redundant. He isn't mentioned as part of her problem/inner scruples in the first half of the book, so where did he come from? Why was he necessary?

What is the latest Seven Sisters book?

Awful dialogue - Pleases and thank yous are used like punctuation. Names are overused to an absurd degree as if the author thinks her readers will forget who is talking from one sentence to the next. Everything is stiff and unnatural and, depending on the content, sometimes painfully awkward. I dare anyone to read this book aloud...it's like the author has never held a conversation with another human being. Before going in, I knew this wasn't the last book, but I did expect to get some closure. All I got were more questions and it feels like it's being dragged on by Riley's unexpected succes with the opportunity to make even more money.

For over a year now, I’ve waited and anticipated the day I could read Pa Salt’s story. The first time I read about the seven sisters, I sat in a hotel room in Cuba. I was waiting for my friend to get ready to go out, and had trouble tearing myself away from the book when she was ready to go. I was hooked, and my obsession grew as i continued to devour the series. This first book is not the story of seven sisters, but just one of six adopted female babies who grow up as privileged children (named for constellations) at an amazing island home in Switzerland called Atlantis......and when Pa Salt dies, each of the six grown women are given a private letter with a secret clue to their past. Tiesiog gal jau atsipalaiduok? Maia, an astoundingly beautiful interpreter, who translates books for authors is the oldest sister and the first to return to her roots to investigate her beginnings.....and what an excellent story she has.....I truly did not want to put it down.....and the ending......What?!?!?!?.....surprise! surprise! When I was little, I perceived the surrounding life as something quite normal and natural. But there was really nothing natural in our life. On the contrary! It was extremely strange, this life. A bachelor, a middle-aged man, adopts six young girls, brings them here to Switzerland to raise and educate them under one roof. Each of them is handed a tantalising clue to their true heritage – a clue which takes Maia across the world to a crumbling mansion in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil . . .
