And if you have watched the movie the book is 100% better it is very interesting and very funny one of the best books I have read in my life. I discovered the book accidentally, while browsing through the books on 12 Days of Kindle this Christmas, and although it was clearly a children's book, I figured I'd give it a go.

Surely in 1938 penguins were just as much a staple of zoos and pop-culture as they are now -- but judging by this book, maybe not. Popper and his family have penguins in the fridge and an ice rink in the basement in this hilarious Newbery Honor book that inspired the hit movie!
