Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2007. As someone else mentioned it it a bit cluttered, however one of the biggest disappointments for me was Ireland barely being referenced.This book would have been very welcome at my school last term when Iceland was included in the Year 1 topic of Around the World! This is a very well put together lovely looking keepsake book that I think any kid interested in maps, geography and the world around them will love! I love books like this that that introduce geography and culture to children without them realising that they are actually learning! It’s incredibly detailed but also kid friendly, but every adult we show is intrigued by this map as well! It’s a beautifully illustrated picture book, which still has pride of place in his room now he’s a teenager.What makes Maps so special, aside from its fantastic and unique illustrations and fun and quirky facts, is the sheer atmosphere it creates and the feeling of discovery you get from turning its pages.
