About this deal

My daughter is so happy with it, lots of friends and family have commented on how beautiful it is and the quality is amazing. Used books have different signs of use and might not include supplemental materials such as CDs, Dvds, Access Codes, charts or any other extra material. A feast for the eyes, with lavish drawings from the Mizielinskis, go on a journey and discover cities, rivers, mountains as well as cultural places of interest, iconic animals and personalities.

The illustrations are fantastic and there is so much to see on each page, I especially like that every item is properly named whether it be a fish, fruit, tree or flower. With each page turned, you'll be learning fascinating facts associated with each region of the world. The oversized coffee table book has double page spreads of each map, beginning with a world map then split into continents, with maps from a selection of countries from that continent behind the continent map. Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2007. As someone else mentioned it it a bit cluttered, however one of the biggest disappointments for me was Ireland barely being referenced. This book would have been very welcome at my school last term when Iceland was included in the Year 1 topic of Around the World! Es un libro hermoso, las ilustraciones son de lo más lindas y tiene muchísima información divertida hasta para adultos.

If you love BIG books and clear informative maps, then this is the book for you , and for your grandchildren! As children, we both loved stumbling across a book too heavy to even lift, let alone open and read; a book full of facts and numbers; a book whose story you discovered through its ideas rather than its prose. The amount of interesting information any child or adult can pick up from thumbing through this book is amazing in my opinon. Our site uses high-level SSL encryption technology, the most advanced security software currently available for online transactions. This book is so informative, and generates so many conversations for learning about the world - Geography, Cultures, Language, Food, Animals, History, etc. This is an innovative approach to geography which will keep young and not so young, discoverers coming back again and again to pore over the quirky, delightful drawings.

This is a very well put together lovely looking keepsake book that I think any kid interested in maps, geography and the world around them will love! I love books like this that that introduce geography and culture to children without them realising that they are actually learning! It’s incredibly detailed but also kid friendly, but every adult we show is intrigued by this map as well! It’s a beautifully illustrated picture book, which still has pride of place in his room now he’s a teenager. What makes Maps so special, aside from its fantastic and unique illustrations and fun and quirky facts, is the sheer atmosphere it creates and the feeling of discovery you get from turning its pages.
