About this deal

UK viewers can catch Inland Empire from Studiocanal in select theaters on May 26, with Potemkine Films bringing it to France on May 31. Or Lynch was just having fun with the new and inexpensive technology (he shot the film on an outmoded, five-year-old PD150 digital camera), without the Hollywood overhead.

One thing I did find annoying was that any polish dialogue isn't subtitled unless you turn on the english subtitles. Amusingly, the project started after Dern had coincidentally moved into Lynch’s neighborhood and upon discovering that the director was inspired to work with her again. First of all, if you're new to David Lynch's recent work - in other words, if you haven't seen and enjoyed Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive, then INLAND EMPIRE probably isn't for you.

It’s the big illusory play of life on the screen of conscious awareness (note the repeated use of screens in the film). The final hour thankfully picks up the pace as Lynch’s nightmarish odyssey reaches a gripping (and at times terrifying) crescendo. Noch offensichtlicher Symbole kann man kaum noch bemühen um darauf hinzuweisen, dass hier Sexualität als Ursache für Destruktion aber die Destruktion auch als Chance begriffen werden kann. Despite what I always assumed was Lynch’s aversion to special features, Criterion’s editions of his films have been packed with some great material that even manages to delve a little into the subject matter and themes of the films themselves. She is both Nikki and the character she plays in the film Sue Blue, alongside Justin Theroux’s Devon as her lead; her Polish husband is concerned about possible infidelity as the film’s director (played by Jeremy Irons) proceeds.

David Lynch fans in the UK and France can soon enjoy the auteur's 2006 nightmarish psychological thriller Inland Empire on the big screen in glorious 4K, with Variety revealing today that Studiocanal is releasing a newly remastered version supervised by Lynch himself. The audio presented for this release was remastered in January 2022 by the film’s original rerecording mixers–Lynch, Dean Hurley, and Ron Eng working from the original 5.STUDIOCANAL will release a newly re-mastered picture and soundtrack of David Lynch’s mysterious and enigmatic film, INLAND EMPIRE (2006) in cinemas on 26 May and on Blu-Ray and DVD on 19 June. The two Lynch regulars start by discussing the director and how they first came to work with him (amusingly, both have their on-the-nose impersonations of him) before getting into the film’s background and Dern’s experience. StudioCanal has provided us with a promotional trailer for its upcoming Blu-ray release of the recent 4K restoration of David Lynch's Inland Empire (2006), which will be available for purchase on Blu-ray on June 19. Personalmente, no he podido comprobar esta cuestión pues no dispongo de ninguna edición en DVD de la película para poder realizar la comparación.

None of these feel that essential, but they still contain enough of Lynch’s idiosyncratic genius to make them a worthwhile watch. That being said, this new disc is provides us with the very best picture quality that is possible to extract from DV.Inland Empire, David Lynch’s 2006 surreal epic that confounds, disturbs and frustrates, gets a comprehensive overhaul for its Blu-ray release, following a limited cinema run. I understand that it can initially seem highly confusing and all over the place, so don’t expect a typical film with a start, middle and end.

That detail may be artificial, with a slightly waxy texture suggesting this is the case, yet it still doesn’t look half bad. David Lynch’s first digitally shot feature makes visionary use of the medium to weave a vast meditation on the enigmas of time, identity, and cinema itself.StudioCanal will release on Blu-ray David Lynch's Inland Empire (2006), starring Laura Dern, Jeremy Irons, Justin Theroux, Karolina Gruszka, and Grace Zabriskie. While the decision to shoot in DV may have unleashed his creativity (and inspired some film students to boot) the ensuring freedom to experiment resulted in a film that is easy to admire yet slightly more difficult to love.
