About this deal

Neil Young announces the December 2nd release of a 50th Anniversary Edition of his 1972 album Harvest . Released in February 1972, Harvest was Neil Young’s third solo album and is one of the most successful and well-loved albums in his long career. The first DVD is Harvest Time - a 2-hour, unreleased film shot during the making of Harvest, and includes footage at Neil’s Broken Arrow ranch in Northern California, plus the recording sessions in Nashville and London.

In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. The box set is completed by two DVDs which provide a new glimpse into 'Harvest': The first is 'Harvest Time', an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of 'Harvest', with footage from Young's 'Harvest Barn' sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. Young’s fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalog and is dense with songs that have long-permeated radio waves. Half a century after its original release, it remains perhaps his best (and most beloved) album, more than worthy of revisiting on its own merits. Additionally, the hardbound book will include never-before-seen photos along with extensive liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be released on triple-vinyl and triple-CD, both of which features the original album; a disc of three studio outtakes from the original ‘Harvest’ sessions (‘Bad Loneliness’, ‘Journey Through The Past’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’); and an unreleased live BBC solo performance. The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. CD3 - "Harvest" Outtakes was recorded by Elliot Mazer at Quadrafonic Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee on February 6th, April 4th and February 7th respectively, 1971.Highlights of Harvest Time include recording sessions with David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash (the scene with Crosby is especially jarring, as he and Young are very dedicated to the idea of never speaking again).

After seemingly hundreds of years of different variations it is hard to say what the real Neil actually is but if you are going to start somewhere perhaps 'Harvest' is your best entry point. Both sets come with a poster and a hardcover book which includes never-before-seen photos along with extensive sleeve notes by photographer Joel Bernstein.
