About this deal

In fact, barring the further audio issues, those without DV would have likely absolutely loved revisiting this action classic in 4K. I used to think it was my oled tv or Panasonic 4K player that was causing the issue but now that it’s happening in this disc I’m not so sure. In New Orleans, handsome drifter Chance Boudreaux (Jean-Claude Van Damme, Death Warrant, Maximum Risk) is approached by a beautiful girl (Yancy Butler, Drop Zone, Fast Money) looking for her father, a homeless vet. The most memorable shot from this film, the metal arrow flying through the air, is a blatant Sam Raimi shot). Released in a blaze of publicity at the end of last year was Disney’s latest animated feature, Wish.

I particularly enjoyed the new program with stunt coordinator Billy Burton, whose take on the current state of the film industry is spot on. The legendary “Muscles from Brussels” Jean-Claude Van Damme ( No Retreat, No Surrender , Kickboxer ) teams up with world-famous action director John Woo ( The Killer , Hard Boiled , Face/Off ) and executive producer Sam Raimi ( The Evil Dead , Spider-Man ) for this electrifying thriller. Every action star has a peak film; that mega-blockbuster that defines their time on the silver screen. This is especially the case with the middle hunt scene and the climax in the parade float warehouse.

Black levels are much better resolved this time out - in this 4K disc and the remastered 1080p Blu-ray - giving the image a better feeling of three-dimensional depth. Details are sharp and crystal clear showing better detailing in clothing, production design, and the film’s New Orleans locations. Kino Lorber Studio Classics gives this fan-favorite a worthy 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray upgrade with a terrific Dolby Vision transfer and some new bonus features. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Throughout the film, Woo pulls out all the stops to transpose his style to the larger budget of an American production.

Watch the Trailer for the Jordan Peele-produced ‘Monkey Man’ directed by and starring Dev Patel Someone's pissed that no one saw Polite Society.

JCVD Still pumps out some fun movies, but nothing has come close to the excellence that is Hard Target.

In a long overdue move, Dwayne Johnson is heading back into more dramatic territory as a troubled MMA fighter in A24's The Smashing Machine. In any given scene, some shots will have no grain at all while others will have a coarse coating of it.And, perhaps even more frustratingly given what you'd have had to go through to get here, actually pretty frequently stunning. Note: This 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray combo release features a version of the film that runs at approximately 100 minutes. Running over schedule and losing an epic boat chase at the bequest of his lead actor (who preferred horses; the boat sequence would be saved for Woo's later Face/Off) the director turned in a first cut which was too long and violent for the studios - earning a dreaded NC-17 by the censors, back in the days when they refused to specify what exactly needed to be changed to secure a more studio-friendly R-rating.

Some of the footage is extra character development but MOST of it is apparently extra violence, hence it was deemed TOO violent and had to be cut down even to get an R rating. In case you get a copy with the wrong audio mix, here is the link for the disc replacement program: https://www.Presenting the 100-minute international cut—and not, as many hoped, John Woo’s proper 116-minute director’s cut, material for which exists in too poor a condition for official release—this transfer does reveal a bit of wear and dirt here and there.
