About this deal

Little does he know running this simple errand will land him in the middle of a murder investigation? If a refund is payable to you we will process the refund as soon as possible, and, in any case within fourteen (14) days. As David begins to probe further, shelving the issues with his son and parents, there lies a truth he could not see coming. I have all three parts of this Promise Falls trilogy and I won't be stopping reading until I have finished all three.

And while the primary issue regarding Marla is resolved, the novel has a definite cliffhanger ending, which will be taken up in FAR FROM TRUE, Barclay’s next work. But the puzzlement turned to bewilderment and horror when a woman was discovered not that far away, brutally murdered, her baby missing. We mainly use Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service for goods which weight less then 2kg, all other goods will be delivered by a Courier. Each new book that he has published has consistently fulfilled and exceeded the promise of his previous one, with many of them set in a mythical but true-to-life town in New York named Promise Falls. Wait until you meet unemployed journalist David Harwood, a single father to a nine-year-old son, Ethan who finds himself living back in his childhood home (and single bed) that he last occupied twenty years ago.He has barely squared his desk blotter when he finds himself unemployed and living with his parents in his childhood home. Like a less surreal Twin Peaks, this is a compellingly grotesque portrait of the American dream in meltdown. And don't expect all the answers in this first volume - Barclay is keeping plenty of secrets back for parts two and three.

Half-way through Broken Promise, I still didn't feel that there was a killer hook, but instead Barclay is a whole lot more ingenious and delivers an utterly fascinating take on the humdrum life and goings on in the area, placing irons in fires and keeping them smoking, but without the blue touch paper really setting them alight. More to this point, does David really want to end up facing the consequences of his cousin being a killer? So much humour, brilliant dialogue and the way it is used to reveal shocking revelations is tremendous. The author is also exceptionally good at diverting the readers attention and running the more routine aspects of his characters lives alongside the more pivotal events, such as Ethan's school fight, to the tasty banana bread that Duckworth is given at the home of a witness and his losing battle with his weight. Was so engrossed, purchased the audiobook, narrated by Quincy Dunn Baker and Brian O'Neil in addition to the e-book for a suspenseful performance. From the New York Times- -bestselling author of No Safe House comes the first novel in an explosive trilogy about the disturbing secrets of a quiet small town. Detective Barry Duckworth, for example, is one of the people who you should pay attention to from the first time you read the name. There is a weary sense of decline and decay that hangs over David’s first person account --- from his son Ethan’s unhappiness and his own feelings of failure to his parents’ demonstrable decline in their faculties. Barclay, who lives in Canada, continues his penchant for delving into American small towns, creating believable settings that pack an emotional wallop. I did figure out one of the crimes before the end, but I was happy to discover that I was not completely right.
