Bosch is one of my favourite brands for garden tools so I was excited to try their UniversalRake 900, an electric scarifier that also doubles up as a leaf rake.We want to empower you with the knowledge you need to make confident decisions about your lawnmower and garden equipment. A few extra points there compared to models with steel wire tines, which are nothing more than a lawn raker. It didn’t seem to go quite as deep as some of the other scarifiers I tested – as an example, I had to keep the Einhell on its highest setting, and it still seemed to work deeper than the Bosch did.

However, this applied to most of the scarifiers that I tested, and none of those had a special system to allow for this, so I wouldn’t say that this was a huge selling point.
