So, what I am looking to do is connect my iPhone 5s to the stereo system to play music via Bluetooth.
Since you say the car doesn't have set up controls on the steering wheel, you need to use the (right) wiper lever controls for menu selections. I think we have also covered elsewhere on the forum that the RNS510 is pretty slow to boot up and the navigation is not a slick as some more modern units, however it is so nice to have it fully integrated.
Guess what, you can even find discount vouchers, coupons and other money saving deals of bluetooth module rcd 310 on AliExpress. Both are easy to fit, the hardest part is running the microphone from the BT module to the location above the rear view mirror. I initially positioned the magnets in the gaps between the three dials, and the clock hands wouldn't move :smt013 . And also once you take keys out and then start it up again it will not show the media icon on the dash anymore.
