About this deal

I could not get circuit diagrams for the Creek for some reason, but from my vague recollections the circuit design was very similar to the 1616m, and also the Lehmann Black Cube phono stage (and others).

If you need to amplify and EQ your vinyl records to interface with your audio workstation, sound card, home stereo system or main monitor system, the DJ PRE II gives you flawless audio reproduction in a rugged and reliable package. Thanks to its additional switchable low-cut filter, which kicks in at 22 Hz, vinyl fans who wish to cut some of the boominess from older distorted vinyl, or a turntable’s drive rumble, without cutting much out of the mix should take note of this device. And it's possible that maybe I just need to fiddle more with the Art settings to match it better, but I haven't really tried it. Unit 4 - Carberry Court 28 Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Hillington Park, Glasgow, United Kingdom, G52 4NQ. And afterwards, you would have to remember to turn it back down - otherwise the AppleTV would be ear-shatteringly loud!

I think folks who don't know how to properly adjust it are trying not to have the green light stay on continuously. So if you're someone who has a turntable that doesn't have a ground wire, then there's potential that you may not need it with this pre-amp. The ART DJ Pre II phono amplifier can, for example, be integrated into DJ setups in which very old-school turntables are used. The issue with overload against frequency is the RIAA equalisation that's applied on the cutting side and the opposite on the replay side. I would much rather see a S/N ratio of, say 70dB but a 25dB overload margin, than 80dB of S/N ratio and less than 20dB overload margin. One gets unnecessary balanced inputs on line stages and domestic power amps, yet unbalanced inputs on the only items where they would be fully justified. I hooked this preamp up to my Onkyo TX-NR809 receiver in hopes of it being a much better improvement over the built-in phono preamp in the 809. The ARTcessories line is designed to deliver solutions for a number of audio needs - like having phantom power, having one or two more mixing channels, testing cables, headphone processing, preamplification for microphones and turntables, and many more real-world applications.I also tweaked the settings in my receiver, mainly the IntelliVolume setting for the particular input I'm using this preamp in. I would have to revisit it to check - but my recollection was of a "standard" setup nothing special in the design sense, sound was (is) good.
