In summary, Jazz Club is a symphony of notes that harmonize into a fragrance that's timeless, alluring, and utterly captivating. On a man, this is irresistible to me, the vanilla softens out the harshness that comes from the booze and smoke, it is gently carnal yet sophisticated, such a dangerous combination to be around! I tried extremely hard to smell the tobacco but I can't even pretend it is there and I know what tobacco smells like. What I smell: top notes - rum, cinnamon, and vanilla, base notes - lemon, licorice, and musk, no heart notes. This came as a surprise because the only Maison fragrance I ever wanted to have is By the Fireplace (love at first sniff, own a 10ml decant).
If you’re not the right person for it then it’ll give off the impression that you spent hours at a jazz club and had just stepped out, might be strange to smell on someone else during the day time. I was told by my friend that I should mention, that "this is the smell, that someone who has never been to a jazz club imagines a jazz club to smell. As the day goes on, it becomes more and more sweet, with the vanilla overpowering everything else by the end of the day.
In the drydown, tonka bean, pink pepper, and tobacco (the unburned leaf -- I don't really get smoke). Immersion full of sensuality in the subdued atmosphere of a New York jazz club, a melting pot of smells that blend or telescope: cigars, leather, whiskey, rum, the wood of bar stools. If you're into more robust and complex fragrances, this one might be worth a try, but for me, I'll explore other options that suit my liking better.

The Jazz Club fragrance by Maison Margiela captures the elegant bouquet of premium cigars in a mix of tobacco leaf absolute and pink pepper. Smoking and drinking places (and people) do not smell this tranquil or gentle, or at least not the ones I know of lol.The Replica Jazz Club Eau De Toilette is a snapshot in time – a bottled memory of ‘heady cocktails and cigars’, made with sharp but sweet top notes of pink pepper, neroli oil and lemon, and deepened by fresh, earthy, leathery middle notes of claryage oil, rum absolute and Grasse rose. A small bit of this is enough (imo) and I’d recommend testing it on your skin first, two sprays, and analyzing throughout the day how this works for you before going all out. An anthology of classic notes and coppery tones, between deep armchairs and a handful of bar stools, with subdued lighting reflected on the piano where cocktails linger, wafting their liquory notes. In the heart of New York City, as soon as you descend the steps leading to the jazz club, the unique atmosphere that perfumes the place floats by. Someone who wears leather to read books at the library, or who rides a motorcycle to get a hot drink and slice of cake at a cafe.
If I were to critique this perfume is that the tobacco in this perfume comes off a little sharp in my opinion. It really does remind me of a leather jacket being leant to you by a man that takes care of himself and goes into clubs that have the listed notes in them.
In an attempt to make its presence known, I find myself liberally applying up to 9 spritzes, hoping to catch more than a faint whisper of its magic. The fruity notes appear as a mastered improvisation among the scents that emerge, leading to a sweet tobacco impregnated with leather. Not huge on projection but honestly I wear perfume for myself not others and if they happen to smell it and enjoy the fragrance its just a bonus. Pink pepper, when dolloped with a hair's breadth of Ambroxan, adopts a lively feel of sparkling fruits under morning sun, and this would send welcome rays into the smoky slumber of Jazz Club's nocturnal drydown. I've tried many different boozy scents from all different houses, but to me, nothing compares to Jazz Club.Macy's sent me a sample of this and I gave it away to a male coworker but I snuck a spray and smell before giving it away and I love it. Vanilla, incense and tobacco leaves instantly evoke the cigars whose smoke stuns us and sifts the room. The sillage of Jazz Club is moderately strong, often being strongly projected from intimate close proximity or from the fabric of clothing hours after spray.
