About this deal

The remainder of the films are the original theatrical releases and if there is any cut gore scenes they remain extras like prior releases of past.

In fact, a tinge of noise, crackling and hissing can occasionally be heard in the voices from time to time.

This is where we begin to oddly cheer for the killer while the timid, self-deprecating Shelly adds a redeeming charm.

It culminates when Jason’s murderous rampage moves from wilderness camp to the streets of New York City in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. in evidence, revealing an outstanding 1080p effort that is hands-down the best the film has ever looked in the home. And speaking of, if Scream Factory can give similar treatment to the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and maybe finally bring Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Blu-ray—we’d love that too.

Unfortunately, Part 3 and The Final Chapter continue to come off a bit screechy and bright in the higher frequencies and during the loudest segments. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives had a slightly higher budget, a talented director (Tom McLoughlin), a better story, and more interesting actors.Personally, I've opted for the former when watching each of the movies, and not too surprisingly, they are a welcomed upgrade over previous releases even though they don't offer as significant a jump over their Dolby TrueHD counterparts like the video transfers. The previous Paramount Blu-ray had a warmer, greener look to it, which often clashed with skin tones, white surfaces, and even instances of fire. Paramount then decided to close out the series and kill off Jason once and for all with Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter in 1984. The color palette has a nice variety of hues and skin tones appear mostly natural, although they do get a bit too pink in certain scenes. Despite the MPAA’s infamous destruction of all of the major gore effects, the film was another success.

The New Blood and Jason Takes Manhattan are also carryovers, but they come from slightly lesser masters comparatively in terms of fine detail. Dialogue tends to keep to the front, save for other atmospheric moments, while the sound effects and score have a large amount of room to play around in. I'm wondering if all of them, or at the very least 1-4, will be repressed versions of the Scream discs with those extras, considering they are the new transfers. A cemetery fills much of the bottom left and lightning can be see striking his recently opened grave. the Horror film with footage and interview clips from some of the genre's leading actors and filmmakers.Paramount has released an eight-film 'Friday the 13th' collection to Blu-ray in collectible SteelBook packaging. Jason includes subtitles in English SDH and Spanish, while Friday the 13th (2009) includes subtitles in English SDH, Spanish, and French. Part III is less interesting aurally than the previous two films as the focus was likely driven towards the visuals.
