About this deal

Iris talks often about how she hears noises outside her window that sound like voices, and she's often confused by how she can't see anyone's bodies outside, but overall it's left as this relatively eerie mystery. This all makes it harder to connect with the character fully, but leaves the reader guessing about a lot of her motivations within the narrative so I think it was an interesting choice.

You need to read to book to see whether (and which) of the girls get what they wanted and whether (and which) of them get their comeuppance. One of her sons, the adopted, troubled one, coaches wrestling at the school and the boy had been a team member. The reader is present with all these bright and shiny appealing things that makes Nyx seem like such a beautiful place, better than Earth by miles, but as time passes in the book the reality is carefully and painfully revealed through inconveniences such as the sunlight. The latter was shortlisted for the Encore Award and recommended by Florence Welch's book club, Between Two Books.

These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. So, therefore as soon as I had the opportunity to review Everything We Ever Wanted I jumped at the chance. With all these horrors mounting ever-higher, to what source of comfort or relief can we turn to to help us endure all the anxiety and inconvenience of our "new" daily lives? There was no real affair between Phillip and Bronwyn, no real affair between Charlie and Bronwyn, nothing comes of Charlie’s wife’s crush on Scott, nothing much comes up when it is revealed that Charlie’s wife had been obsessed with the family as a teen, the boy died of a MRSA, no revelations about Scott’s bio family.

She has framed the novel as a millennial tale, defined by social media and hashtags, cynical references to veganism, yoga, and other trends. In the opening pages of Luiza Sauma’s second novel, Iris Cohen reflects on the choice she made to abandon Earth and its soulless grind for life in another solar system. This book was my first novel by Sara Shepard that i've read, and was really excited to read it, but was let down.
