About this deal

I have published six full length novels and one novella, and my seventh Come a Little Closer is due for release in 2018. That name means nothing until Tom, Becky, Rob and Jumbo meticulously peel back the layers of her life to discover who she is and who would want her dead. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights.

India's story unfolds- the daughter of a woman who questions her purpose, wandering until she finds Aram. She had had a very strange childhood, distanced from her parents although still living under the same roof. The author deals with some extremely serious and disturbing issues as the reader learns more about Martha, and her previous life. But rather than stay and face the police and profess her innocence, Martha disappears, for reasons that are slowly unveiled as the story progresses.

There is far more to Martha than her colleagues know, and whilst as readers we become all too aware of why she has maintained such a air of secrecy amongst her colleagues, it only adds to the suspicion of guilt as far as her colleagues, and the police, are concerned. Thankfully, as you continue to read, the interaction with DCI Douglas and his team allows sanity to finally reign in your brain.

I was lucky enough last month to receive an advanced copy of Close Your Eyes and once again Rachel Abbott does not fail to excite and entertain. As you continue, you are drawn into the incredible circumstances of the subtle absorption of otherwise seemingly normal people into the clutches of a cult. Tom, Becky and the team are back investigating the murder of one woman, Genevieve, and the disappearance of another, Martha, who maybe a suspect in the killing. As always the book centres around the victim of the crime and whilst this is a DCI Tom Douglas book, the story is primarily told through Martha.

The taverna is the only place that Kostas and Defne can meet in secret, hidden beneath the blackened beams from which hang garlands of garlic and chilli peppers, creeping honeysuckle, and in the centre, growing through a cavity in the roof, a fig tree. Random House presents the audiobook edition of Ikigai by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles, read by Noako Mori. Then a young woman is killed, police officer Tom Douglas and his team threatening to blow up her cover!

Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. A fascinating crime thriller in which the reader's sympathies lie more with the prime suspect rather than the victim. As the investigation commences, Martha Porter, the firm’s office manager, disappears before the team can meet and interview her. Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. Character development is really one of the key elements I love about the books as whole – the way in which the author really makes you care about what happens to everyone in the story, even if it is only seeing an antagonist getting their just desserts.

For Arthur Dent, who has only just had his house demolished that morning, this seems already to be more than he can cope with. I’ve just finished this (an advanced copy) and once again Rachel has woven together a fantastic story. The characterisation was very well done and I did get emotionally involved – I always feel an author has done their job well when you care what happens to a character. Atrodo, kokie zmones naivus, kad sitaip isitraukia, viska paaukoja, priima nesuvokiamus sprendimus, leidziasi psichologiskai isnaudojami ir tik del vieno zmogaus, sektos lyderio, kuriuo aklai pasitiki.

The attacks on their lives are skilfully targeted, designed to hit them where they hurt the most, and when a young woman disappears and a baby is abducted, DCI Tom Douglas must try to unravel the past and discover who is the architect of their misery. Told from the perspectives of Martha, Tom and his investigation and a flashback to the past Rachel has cleverly brought it all together to create another hard to put down book. Main Hi Kahaani Hoon”, an Audible Original is a weekly storytelling show of 20 episode from Audible, written-created-performed by Major Akhill Pratap; an ex-Army Officer popularly known as The Soldier and The Storyteller.Although Becky’s role is largely just investigative this time around, we do get to see a little bit more of how some recent changes in Tom’s domestic situation are starting to impact upon his working life. In The Coldest Case: A Black Book Audio Drama, homicide detective Billy Harney sends his new partner, Kate, deep undercover in a notorious Chicago drug ring. When Martha disappears, immediately after Genevieve's murder, she puts herself right into the limelight.
