Also on staff are Elias (Trevor Fehrman) and Blockchain (Austin Zajur), the latter Elias’ silent cohort. The best parts for me were Rosario Dawson (whose acting chops mop the floor with everyone else in this movie) and the opening scene with Welcome to the Black Parade.

We’re still awaiting the final Blu-ray cover artwork for this release, but you can see the film’s promotional art at left. Alas, this seems to become another domain where Smith shows a steep dropoff, as least as demonstrated by this spotty discussion - and Smith deserves the blame, as he dominates. From the outside looking in, naysayers might consider a third bite at the Clerks apple to be unnecessary. In the past, he proved blunt and hilarious, but here, he mostly praises himself, cast/crew and the film. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.Pretty obviously, the third Clerks has Smith sharing with us his experience of the last few years of the heart attack that changed his life in many ways. The math is reversed in Clerks III, which leans hard into heart, lets the comedy follow that lead, and trusts that the audience will go along for the ride because they love these characters as much as Smith obviously does.

All five sit together for this running, screen-specific discussion of story/characters, the original unused screenplay, cast and performances, costumes, music, editing and related domains.Whether it works tonally is another matter, but it’s so well done and so effective with astonishingly strong performances and visuals that it makes up for any of the film’s shortcomings.

Clerks III was captured by cinematographer Learan Kahanov digitally using Red 8K Digital Cinema cameras and finished as a 4K Digital Intermediate in the aspect ratio of 1. I’m not sure that the downer part of the ending was really necessary, but I assume it was Kevin Smith’s way of saying that this part of the View Askewniverse has run its course. This is a disc worth every penny a fan is gonna spend on it and its nice to see a filmmaker value the format every time out. When the movie requires O’Halloran and Anderson to portray emotions beyond the slacker snark of the first movie, they come up badly short. has been killed (while pregnant) by a drunk driver, and that Dante is still recovering from that trauma.
