About this deal

Joining the expedition via a helicopter is marine biologist Donald Sutherland who, it will transpire, has a link to the island. the protagonist, is wholly non-believable, whether conversing with others or fist-fighting the bad guys. Avalanches, explosions, falling radio towers and plenty of carnage lie in wait for Donald and Lloyd as they attempt to discover the whereabouts of the gold and just who is behind the insanity of it all. However, due to this movie's disappointing box-office performance, "Goodbye, California", and the other titles were never made by producer Peter Snell, who had bought the rights to numerous MacLean works in 1975, including ones at the time that had not even been published or written yet. An announcement at the end of the closing credits reads "Coming Soon - Alistair MacLean's Goodbye California".

He had aged considerably and wasn’t the virile action star I had imagined him to be at this point in his film career. Meanwhile, Lindquist finds a message left by Larsen, who had been a Norwegian agent, confirming that Jungbeck and Heyter are neo-Nazis controlled by a third expedition member codenamed Zelda. The brothers find their ice-cold waves and precipitous slopes, while we get the chance two join in on the excitement of shredding arctic snow and cruising the ice cold waves. Three brothers go to remote Bear Island (Bjørnøya) in the Barents Sea to find the perfect wave; travelling with a surfboard, a snowboard, a paraglider and food found in supermarket trash canisters back home in Norway.

Richard Widmark was the other name that appealed to me because of his being a favorite in our household thanks to his association with the western. Donald is taking center stage as a man of action styled Hercule Poirot as opposed to the Peter Ustinov laid back style of sleuthing. If the reader notices a working world of a particular time and place and mores, the novels have that, too. His next novel of The Guns of Navarone (1957), still considered one of the giants in the very large and good field of thrillers based retrospectively in World War II.

Snell and Selkirk were so positive about Bear Island's prospects that at one stage they planned a series of Alistair MacLean adaptations for annual Christmas release, starting with The Way to Dusty Death. This censorship severely interferes with the plot, as it is crucial to the novel to understand the motives of captain Lansing. Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term.I don't think you can make films about film units," he later said adding "I think possibly we tried to put too much meaning and too much cast into an action adventure story. Die Bäreninsel in der Hölle der Arktis" ist ein Abenteuerfilm mit Krimiplot, dem es zu keiner Sekunde gelingt, Spannung zu erzeugen. Later, Lansing finds an underwater entrance to the U-boat base, where he finds his father's submarine with his remains still inside it.
