About this deal

Instant crush kinda smells like BR540 but more sharp/woody and personally I don’t like that fragrance at all.

Although I do get a lot of burnt sugar and mild woods, I also get a pretty unexpected fruity floral-ness from this. While it smells great and intriguing, I just cannot think of any scenario where this is a good pick. nothing like Raghba though people keep comparing it; this is oud, dry, woody, little bitter but warm with the sweet sugar offsetting it; layered with Raghba Wood Intense it smells like cigarettes and I love the two together. Not the biggest fan of how prevalent the sugar note is on the dry down but overall the scent profile is a less smoky but more sweet Replica by the fireplace. Khashab al Oud by Bait al Bakhoor is also akin, with the vanilla swapped for a vague medicinal powder.

The first spray is awful, mostly smelling of alcohol (guessing this is a perfume that needs to mascerate for a bit) but regardless, it's simply not a dupe at all.

Not sure which note it is but in the over 20 colognes that I have sampled they all have the same note that is off putting to me. Oud Ispahan blends sweet, fresh rose with soft oud notes to make for a truly warm and welcoming scent. Not a bad thing and definitely not suffocating but I only applied two sprays - I feel like once it gets to this stage, more than 2 sprays is too much to be wearing around other people indoors. What I love most is smelling it in the morning when I wake up from bed, I don't know why but there's something addictive about the smell of leather and oud together.

That said, BTF is one of the highest quality designers I've smelled out there, and while AAO can't meet that bar, it does smell verry verry pleasant. I'm happy with my great deal, though I think this 100ml could very well last me a few years, since it's a one season (perhaps 2) fragrance that only needs a handful of sprays to shine the entire day instead of 30 spritzes I usually need for 3 hours. It combines aromatic, resinous juniper, rich, smoky leather and herbal green mate for an intriguing, heady yet fresh result. I've got Lataffa Oud for Glory, and Geurlain L'homme Ideal Intense, and Ameer al Oud Intense is my favorite so far. A honey fragrance and a vanilla one did better, but the Vanilla mostly gave me "more Intense Oud" as opposed to something new.

I think this perfume is really really great, and will wear it this coming summer, as often as I want to.

A princely allspice toffee wrapped in charred wood resins and vanilla, slightly fumed with a bakhoor hint that drifts beautifully cozy especially in the chill. If you like the same oud/vanilla DNA you get from many other middle eastern fragrances, then get it.Will get noticed - might work well outdoors where the woodiness would blend in a little better (and some fresh air would dial down the room-filling sillage). I don't think this is a direct substitute for BTF, but if you like that and would prefer something that's less focused on the campfire smell and more towards say, caramel or sugar, you'll like this. In comparison, this fragrance is very similar to Lattafa Raghba, though I find myself preferring Ameer. I get black pepper when I initially spray this, then it settles down and just when you think it’ll remain spicy woody, it goes sweet on you. Some spice or even citrus could make this wearable, but as it is it's just too suffocating and unpleasant.
