And I’m just going to be sitting here, impatiently and anxiously waiting for book 3 of Flesh and Fire because omfg the ending. She never intended to wake up and that reveal spoke volumes to why she was always never in fear of death and the fact Nektas is the only one to know of that confession makes it even more special. I, too, struggle with the idea of having to wait until the next book comes out and I want to read all of them in one go so it’s a debate of waiting vs reading, but ultimately I want to read the next one in the series as they come out.

Ash doesn’t like this, even though Delfai tells him that there are no other options but three that he lists, Ash starts strangling him, but Seraphena intervenes, and when Ash lets go of Delfai, he believes that there’s hope as he had seen his own death at the hands of Ash. When Nyktos dances around the topic himself, Attes tells him that Hanan is throwing a fit in Dalos, and that no one has forgotten who Eythos was nor who Nyktos was meant to be. Nektas determines that it’s time for a nap, and they leave, but on the way out they go past Nyktos’ office, and Jadis wants to go to him, which they end up doing.Which is how it should be in eyes, especially if their love is depicted as this GRAND and EPIC story. And then Attes walks right in, so the two Primals go toe to toe by showing off their primal energy and in their words.

Their love story is somewhat tragic for two individuals who are not even familiar with the concept of love. Nyktos asks why he whipped her that time, and she tells him that Tavius just hated her, and he was a person who likes to dominate others so when he can’t do it, it makes him more determined. I was apprehensive going into ASITE after reading TWOTQ (which I was not the biggest fan of), but I was proven wrong time and time again throughout this amazing book. They enter the rooms, and come face to face with Orphine, the draken, who tells them that she has heard their entire conversation and that she is there to protect Sera from anyone who poses a threat, making a remark that it’s unfortunately not anyone who is a threat to Nyktos. Attes also mentions that there has been a lot of complications, and Nyktos says he assumes Attes had nothing to do with that.
