About this deal

This compact model is equipped with 30mm objective lenses and 7x magnification which provides a steady view in rough seas, with a bright image guaranteed and excellent contrast and sharp detail. All models can be relied on under the most adverse weather conditions and they keep the promise of legendary Steiner robustness. The new Navigator takes Steiner's popular Marine series into a new generation with innovative product features. But if someone were to tell you: “I can sell you a binocular that has an autofocus system, so you adjust the diopter setting on each eyepiece once, and then you never need to refocus, it works by itself and does not need any batteries or other power source”, you would believe that person?

The cylindrical silicone eyecups offer the user excellent viewing comfort and reliable protection from stray light and wind from the side.In the past, I have always used a full compact binocular (usually around 26mm lenses) when either canoeing or kayaking, and thus before receiving this mid-sized Steiner with its wide Porro prism shape, I must confess to being a little worried that they may not be quite as compact as I would have preferred.

Like its predecessors, the new Navigator models are equipped with the liquid-damped, shock-absorbing and most precise compass in its class. So if you are planning on using these bins often on a boat and for long periods, I would consider getting it. This version of the binoculars comes equipped with a large, illuminated compass that is fluid damped, shock-absorbing and the most precise in its class. The Steiner Navigator Pro 7x30 with compass is the perfect pair of binoculars for recreational boaters, fishermen and sailors.

The Steiner Navigator Pro is thereby always sharp from 20m to infinity thanks to the Sports Auto Focus system. Note: I tested them using my sunglasses and as expected was able to achieve the full field of view with them on after completely folding down the eyecups. As far as a detailed review and side-by-sides, well maybe one day if I am feeling qualified and time-rich. If you need to reduce the eye-relief for example because you wear glasses, then you can simply fold down the cup. Indeed at this extreme, I would found it to be about 1 meter, however, this can still be very useful if you sometimes need to focus on something fairly close by.

The new Navigator takes STEINER's popular Marine series into a new generation with innovative product features. The combination of the fairly traditional Porro prism shape and the excellent NBR rubber coating that Steiner uses on these just works. This has been remarked from time to time in this forum (and birdforum), usually by those among us who have matured past seeking in binos simply high power and big front lenses. As I have already mentioned in the weight section of this review, for the most part, I feel that the included neck strap is excellent and I would rate it as one of the best. Although not built to military specification, they will provide a lifetime of use for most water enthusiasts. These Steiner Navigator Pro 7x30 Binoculars don't have a focus wheel, rather they incorporate a diopter adjuster on each of the eyepieces.
