About this deal

The D3300 sits at the bottom of Nikon's entry-level series, positioned as the friendliest of beginner-friendly DSLRs, just below the D5300. I've decided I prefer the smaller and lighter camera body over the bulkier FX, I'll sell my D700 and the FX lenses and stay DX.

bigger or full-resolution file (after Perfectly Clear) or camera-original file (before Perfectly Clear) to explore on your computer. I've been using my D700 and D2Hs and D2x, bodies and i feel I adapted to the light and quick D3300 with no interruptions. Better than the D800 and D800E, the D3300 shows exposure compensation to thirds of a stop on its in-finder bar graph. If you intend to use the D3300 as a 'set-it-and-forget-it' camera though, the lack of a dedicated ISO button is really a non-issue. So, although the D3300's specs are very impressive - especially in terms of battery life - it also has to hold its own against the smaller mirrorless cameras that match it for image quality and offer a more compact-camera-like live view shooting experience. The lightweight and compact entry-level DSLR from Nikon brings a lot to the table for the budding DSLR photographer. I take photos almost every day when I’m traveling and I can go almost three weeks without needing to charge it. Quality does start to drop off at ISO 6400, but I'd not hesitate to use that sensitivity for Web sharing, even when shooting in JPG. He now spends his spare time using his trusted Leica M-E shooting Street photography or general life as he sees it, usually in Black and White.

It's a bit more intuitive than various Scene modes that you see on many physical cameras dials (although they are there too). The D3300 can make extraordinary images in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, and has loads of internal processing power to accomplish everything it does very quickly. DX lens, but even with the included kit lens there's no problem photographing in very dim light without flash.Without a tripod and a fixed-in-place taxidermy bird this camera (or kit zoom lens) is not up to the task. The " I must have the latest gear" brigade must be throwing out their G6s in droves because its a bit long in the tooth after reading this. Only if you need faster recycling time between photos or more range for daylight fill-flash do you need an external flash. I considered the Canon SL1 and the Pentax K-50, but seemed to get a bit more with the Nikon, at the current pricing.
