About this deal
Le Bateleur is the name of the Magician tarot card in French, and was originally portrayed as a slight-of-hand artist before being made into a magus in later occultist decks. The plots dedicated to the production of this wine are located in the foothills of the Ratanaud massif, at an altitude of 350 metres at the foot of the village of Rasteau.
I get big aquatic with creamy cedar, nothing much else but I like it's simplicity, perhaps because one of my accomplishments is being half spanish :D I think it smells fresh and intelligent. While the upright Magician represents potential and tapping into one's talents, the reversed Magician's potential and talents are unfocused and unmanifested. Little insects crawling about, green shrubs pushing out of the ground here and there, as hardy as the soil that bear them. Strega is the sweetener for Bateleur, but it also adds herbal notes like mint and saffron to the already sturdy underbelly of this cocktail. Smells nice, a tiny bit woody, a little ozonic-marine, a bit citrusy, but no longevity and almost no sillage. The longevity is average, around 3 hours, but I don't think these fragrances were made to last the whole day like some expect. He had a range of elements displayed on the table in front of him that he could use every time he wanted, and a small bag that was not difficult to see and seems to be an endless bag, like the goat horn with fruit (symbolizing abundance). On the broad level, the Magician is interpreted with energy, potential, and the manifestation of one's desires; the card symbolizes the meetings of the physical and spiritual worlds (" as above, so below") and the conduit converting spiritual energy into real-world action.
