About this deal

I will say that as I was trying to test a song on the tiny fretboard, I did notice that these are quite sensitive to your nail technique, but with either no nails or well polished nails and good technique they sound lovely.

FWIW, I presently have one other full sized classical, and have had a few others in the past, so I'm not new to classical guitars, nylon strings, etc. I recommend substituting a lighter gauge G string for the G string in your standard guitalele tuning set when you try out high G guitalele tuning.I did a fair bit of Googling about which strings to get, and while most of the discussions seemed to be about how to achieve E. The guilele (sometimes spelled guitalele or guitarlele), a cross between a classical guitar and a tenor ukulele, is a perfect six-string option for the traveler on the go, the ukelele player who wants to explore the guitar, the adventurous guitarist seeking new sonic territory, and the child learning the guitar. That said, if you’re going to put steel strings a guitalele, I’d recommend putting extra light strings on like these. With medium tension, they won’t exert too much stress on your guitalele, or fingers, but are excellent for staying in tune.

On this instrument, every hard/very hard tension set sounds great at standard pitch (and even better in F). And if you do find a single G or A string, it’s usually not much less expensive (or not less expensive at all) than a full set of ukulele strings. The reason being the guitalele is designed for nylon strings, which exert much less string tension than on the neck of the guitar, and the guitar’s truss rod. Nylon strings are also easier to play than steel strings, which is why they are an excellent choice for those just starting with the guitalele. Pros: Everything - they feel nice and they are a good tight gauge so they are loud and responsive to a strummer and a picker. As an experiment, I capoed my classical, with D'Addario EJ45's on it, at the 5th fret, and the tension on the GL-1 with EJ43's is notably higher. SSL Web Technology used on this site makes it impossible for criminals to read, intercept or modify personal and sensitive information such as names, card information, addresses etc. To optimise the performance of Red Series strings, differing percentages of copper powder are used in each individual string, resulting in varying gradients of light to darker red across the strings. I now have this low and lush sound with a serious tension, and the strings set in tune in less than 4 hours.

The Cordoba Mini String set was actually made in conjunction with Aquila strings to preserve the string tone, lifespan, and sound quality of your guitalele. Has anyone had breakage with the Guitalele versions of Aquilas, especially the red-packaged, Rubino-like E-tuning set? But the smaller size of the guitalele means it has different strings, and that is why guitalele players need to know the basics of guitalele strings.Constructed to fit your guitar-ukelele hybrid tuned A to A, these strings will fit most models that are equivalent to a 1/4 size guitar. I'm still trying to get my head around the difference between tension and hardness for classical strings, but based on yours and other comments, I get the impression that harder classical strings have a more linear dynamic than lighter classical strings, such that when e. Do string sets designed for “Requinto” or “guitalele” make any sort of difference vs standard nylons?
