Onion dicing felt good, carrot dicing was a bit loud, and a very sharp knife made mostly shallow surface scratches.Made with a harder, more slick material (polypropylene), with some slight marbling applied to the surface, the OXO board provides a secure grip with a chef’s knife. In any event, it performed well up until the knife-blade test, absolutely trashing our blade's factory edge in under 50 strokes. Only a couple were still slicing cleanly after the 200th stroke, leaving us with a pretty clear idea of our winning boards. We believe that a great experience requires not only a quality product but also exceptional service. If you don’t have a dishwasher and are worried about cross-contamination after cutting something like chicken, just rinse the board with boiling water.

Little nubby feet elevate it off the counter and keep it from sliding, no matter which side you use. It's also not easy to apply consistent pressure on each knife stroke, which would be the only fair way to run a durability and blade-dulling test.
