About this deal

Comes with a complementary Connoisseur Taster Pack, to help you make the most of your new Sage Barista Pro. As with the Express, the Duo Temp Pro has the original thermojet, so it's slightly slower when it comes to steam ready time and steaming time. Automatic and manual milk steaming (3 temp settings and 3 texture settings with the auto steaming), auto purging steam wand – it's an impressive little machine. The SCA Coffee Diploma is the most comprehensive and cost-effective way to learn and achieve the highest level of qualification within the coffee industry.

The Barista Pro has 5 temp adjustments (in 1C increments), and the Bambino Plus doesn't have adjustable brew temp. The Sage Barista Pro is a fantastic all-in-one machine that will allow you to produce great espresso at home. The main reason for this is that this gives you more choice where the grinder is concerned, and as long as you go with the Dose control pro, smart grinder pro or upwards from there (upwards from there meaning the likes of the Barazza Sette 270, Eureka Mignon La Specialita) then you're going to have better ability to dial in, and therefore better espresso.I'm talking about Sage espresso machines, assuming that you're also on this little rainy island in which they go by this brand name. I’m very happy and both the coffee, and the milk frothing for my 2x Cortados each morning have improved no end and the ritual is more enjoyable (to me) than the convenience of a capsule machine. Digital Temperature Control (PID) delivers water at precisely the right temperature, ensuring optimal espresso extraction.

Not only that, but you can completely customise each coffee by tweaking the strength, amount of foam and milk temperature, and you can save these settings, you can also create and name your own personalised coffees. The dose alters the headspace (the gap between the ground coffee and the shower screen) in a way that causes a result opposite to the intention of adjusting the grind. Warranty: 2-year limited manufacturer's warranty (Please note: Sage products covered by this manufacturer's Guarantee are intended for private household (non-commercial) use only. Looking for a wide range of home barista accessories, including tampers, milk jugs, knock out boxes, manual brewers, manual grinders, brew scales, and loads more? This is a review of the Sage Barista Pro espresso machine, with comparisons against the other Sage espresso machines, including the Barista Express Impress.

When it comes to the Sage Barista Express Impress vs the Sage Barista Pro, all of the above differences I've mentioned really sink into insignificance compared to the main difference between these machines, which is assisted manual espresso machine vs completely manual espresso machine. The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is a nonprofit, membership-based organisation that represents thousands of coffee professionals, from producers to baristas all over the world. I have used this machine quite a bit, as I have the other Sage espresso machines, and I love it, overall. The other thing that I've seen many people saying about this, and the Barista Express, is that it runs at 14 or 15 bars of pressure, no… it doesn't… I don't know where people are getting this from, but all Sage machines are set to run at 9 bars, and I have tested this with a portafilter pressure gauge, it's definitely 9 bars. Everything about this machine makes it perfect as an entry-level home barista espresso machine apart from one thing, and that one thing is the ability or lack of when it comes to finely tuning the grind for precisely dialing in the shot. The Impress handles this by constantly keeping an eye on the dose and telling you whether it's correct or not, and what's really good about this, is that the machine learns. Barista-quality performance with a new intuitive interface that provides all the information you need to create café quality coffee at home.

What's important about tamping is a level surface and consistency, it's quite an alien thing to do until you get the knack of it, so this is something else that causes frustration initially. Yes, one difference (not the only one) is the newer thermojet, but this isn't just about heat up time, but also steam ready time, how long it takes to steam your milk, and how long it takes for the machine to be espresso ready again after pulling the shot. With a single touch, the integrated precision conical burr grinder with dose control delivers the right amount of coffee on demand for maximum flavour. With almost double the grind settings of the Barista Express, it does a better job, but it's still not perfect – you'll still find that with some coffees the sweet spot with the grind settings to nail the extraction would be somewhere in between two settings.

I would still use the scales, but only to weigh the coffee in and out, espresso machines with shot timers do away with the need to press the timer button on the scales or to put the scales into timer mode if your scales have that. The Barista Express Impress, which I'll talk about below in the comparisons section, isn't quite the same, by the way.
