This building set is packed with 9 minifigures: an exclusive Golden Oni Lloyd; Golden Cole, Golden Zane, Golden Kai and Golden Jay, who are all armed with their elemental golden weapons; Crystal King; 2 Vengestone Brutes; and a Vengestone Warrior. Some LEGO® sets contain small parts that are NOT suitable for and may pose a hazard to children under 3 years of age. The cost is a little high for what you get, so waiting for a sale or other promotion might be the way to go if you want to add this set to your collection. Although the minifigure uses the same torso pieces as Garmodon, the Crystal King’s true identity has yet to be revealed by the TV series or the sets. The first section might not actually qualify as “tail”, though, as it has the hinges for the rear legs.

The similar minifigures continue with the Vengestone Army, three soldiers are included as with all the Vengestone recruits, they all use the same dragon-like head, with only slight differences in the torso print and weapons. Each one has different print detail or colouring to tie it to a ninja, even the jaw sections are different. The thick plating of gold armor is offset by just a touch of white in the chest, feet, and wings, with small pops of color from the four elementally-themed heads.

LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, and the Brick and Knob configurations are trademarks of the LEGO Group of Companies. The wings have some interesting Technic construction, with a knob that uses both a Ninjago spinner crown and another straw hat as decoration. The piece in question does exist – it comes with the Mechanic figure in the 71775 Nya’s Samurai X Mech set. This dragon toy set features NINJAGO's biggest ever dragon, featuring 4 heads, posable legs and tail, and wings that unfold into 3 gold blades. Available in the free LEGO Building Instructions app for use on smartphones and tablets, the zoom and rotate tools help kids visualize the model as they build. The main body section is bulked out with various pearl gold pieces, this help to make the body appear bigger than it actually is. These blade-like parts shows up with dual-molded colors in several other Crystalized sets – but here we get a classy “basic” version in gold for the first time. These have featured in most of the other new NINJAGO sets and are also dotted around the Crystal King’s temple set.
