About 9 months has passed since I got the Olympus 12-100 f/4 and I’ve used it quite a bit in various settings.As a result, the weight of the lenses I most use has still been reduced to 1800g compared to the previous 2400g. It seems to me that even with the EM5, shutter speed as low as 1s becomes manageable, 2s if with great care, although Olympus has announced previously older models like EM5 do not with the 12-100 IS. But jumping back to bokeh for a moment, I think the biggest issue with this image (other than the subjects, if you're not a fan of bats) is the severe onion-ring bokeh in the highlights behind the flying mammals. If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. I think you will not recognise how extraordinary this lens can be until you both spend time with it AND depend on it.
