The Modern Witch replaces those all-white and mostly male cards of tarot decks past with the inner spirits of female bodies, queer folk, and POC. It is an intentional prioritization and I don’t think that Sterle ever makes that ambiguous in any part of this deck. This is a solid box designed to protect the cards and guidebook within it and as such it can be slipped into a backpack or shoulder bag without taking up too much space. I'm a Puerto Rican, non-binary lesbian who can present both masculine or feminine — so, in my readings, sometimes it was the King or the Queen or the Knight of Swords who popped out to represent me.
