I thought for sure I was going to be overpowered by a spice BOMB, but it was actually love at first sniff. The top notes are Cloves, Cumin and Mandarin Orange; the heart notes are Cardamom, Caraway, Licorice, Mango, Ylang-Ylang, Heliotrope, and Gardenia; the base notes are Vanilla, Amber and Patchouli. This is more sweet and savory, and the headier notes of ylang ylang and gardenia add a carnal tenor into the heart.

It’s MY interpretation of a “safari”, or rather, “Africa” scent, all burnt oranges, red-browns and ochre spices and yellow fruits, and it’s mine again, all mine. I can see how some people can see it overpowering, but I cannot see this as one of those smells that could be 'offensive' (heavy tobacco, smokey, incense, bitter).Jungle L'Elephant is a deep, sophisticated bomb of dried fruits, holiday spice, and powdery woody vanilla. If i could describe, Jungle L'Elephant is giving imagination journey to exotic places like Thailand where you can smell the essence of exotic plants and fruit with touch of incense. I don’t wear it for every occasion, not on a daily basis, I like to preserve the unique and exclusive character. In fact I was so convinced that I discarded it and procured a different sample from a different source. As for the notes and how it smells its something I can't really describe, probably the most unique vanilla scent I've smelt.

florals sweeten it and make it extremely feminine they smell kind of powdery on me but the florals are mainly in the background.and if you like an ambery scent with a twist such as Hypnotic Poison, then you should really check out Jungle Elephant.

I accidentally played tennis while wearing this and I felt like I was being chased around by a butler holding a plate of fresh out of the oven old fashioned style gingerbread; not the cookies the fudgie kind. not your typical sweet gourmand perfume cookies, but some sort of more hearty spicy cookie that only has a hint of sweetness. Kenzo Jungle L'Éléphant is a great modern oriental - fruity and spicy but with a fizzy airiness that feels more wearable and current than Opium et al. She was a wonderful woman and though she has been gone for more than 33 years I still miss her and think of her every day. This discovery is going to send me down the rabbit-hole in an effort to find more fragrances that have a similar composition.Spicy, tart, fruity, sweet - I think it's the cardamom that makes it feel so edible, that and the vanilla. It’s an experience throughout the wear- the opening is a blast of spice (it literally makes me sneeze, lol). and that hit of spicy cardamom in hot milk, and if someone told me that this is a nutmeg-heavy scent, I’d believe them, even if it’s not an included accord.
