About this deal

I feel like so much has been thought off with the eye colour changes and things you can do, plus games. As with any family when you’re going to extend it, you don’t know if it’s going to be a girl or a boy and we had our own little gender reveal to see which HatchiBaby we were going to have join our family. When you remove the egg from its box, you will need to remove the two plastic locks from the base of the egg. When they hear you, they reply with these cute little sounds and then you need to play with them more. I'm amazed at how interactive this toy is, it's unlike anything I've come across before and both kids are besotted.

Games include 'talking' by repeating what you say, playing Peek-A-Boo, bouncing and tapping the Hatchibaby's nose when you see a colour that matches an animal sound (eg. With purple fur, rainbow coloured hair, black hands and pink feet, it was just asking to be cooed over. Rub the bottom of the egg or pick it up to get a reaction, and if you stand it on a flat surface it will rock. Your Hatchibaby is lots of fun straight away because it is really interesting even at the egg stage. You can even teach your HatchiBaby to take using “Yak Bak” where you hold both feet and they learn to repeat.

The Hatchimals also now come in two different species – Ponette and Cheetree giving you different ones to collect should you wish to. Using them will get a response from the Hatchimal and they will soothe your Hatchimal when it's upset. We’ve only had our Hatchimals Hatchibaby for a few days, but so far she has been a huge hit with both my girls.

When playing the Animals Colours game, you need to tap the forehead sensory when you see the colour which matches the animal noise. Each Hatchibaby comes with a highchair, and accessories, including a bottle, hairbrush, rattle and cuddle buddy. When your Hatchimals HatchiBabies is hungry (purple eyes) you can feed it with the bottle pressing on the lower beak! Inside the sealed compartments are the Hatchibaby’s accessories, and the blue container is actually a high chair for your Hatchibaby. You don’t need to worry about Hatchibabies making noise through the night as after two minutes of no interaction, they will fall asleep until you interact with them again. The Hatchibabies come in two new species – Ponette and Cheetree (as well as some other exclusive characters) so we were eager to see who we’d get. The hidden interactive accessories are a great addition making it an more realistic baby experience; in fact my daughter was so engrossed she said she hoped that her new HatchiBaby wouldn't wake her in the night to be fed. As soon as we had removed the locks , the egg started to light up, move and make cute little noises.

The Hatchibaby also comes with four accessories a hairbrush, rattle, bottle and cuddly toy which the Hatchimal interacts with. If you’d like to see the girl version of Ponette you can read my lovely friend Laura’s fantastic review here.

Hidden in little packages we found a small brush, baby bottle, flower themed rattle and a 'cuddle buddy'.
