About this deal

I left it a week and it was still loose sand in the gaps so I decided to do it again only to find still not hardened. Available in 5 colours ranging from black to beige, Easy Joint’s product is again more expensive than Dansand No Grow, so it may not be ideal for larger paving projects.

This unique composition creates weed-inhibiting protection and very compact joint making it difficult for weeds to take hold. The NO GROW mixture consists of washed and dried silica sand as well as nutrient-poor minerals with a high pH value. Although Dansand No Grow is more expensive up front than your average dry jointing sand, the long-lasting benefit of its hardened seal offers good value for money. Before filling your joints with Dansand® joint filler, be sure to remove all existing weeds and their root network. You also protect your paving in this way, avoiding subsidence, edge peeling, frost damage and so forth. Therefore, familiarize yourself with the applicable national and / or local regulations before starting the joint work. By securing the joints in your block paving with this hard-setting filler, you’ll lose far less of the material over time, meaning you’ll save a fair bit on the cost of regularly re-sanding the joints in your block paved patio! Paving stones are laid on a sustainable gravel and sand layer in accordance with current standards for paving work.

To avoid weeds and displacements in the coating, the joint must always be filled to the full height of the joint edge and be completely free of soil and other organic material. Have power washed my driveway due to dirt and weeds, I wanted something to fill the gaps and keeps the weeds away. It is frustrating as the weeds on my driveway can easily be controlled by a quick spray of weed killer. Thanks to this filler’s specially designed formula consisting of tiny beads of kiln-dried sand, you’ll find that its naturally nutrient-poor minerals work to suppress weed growth by drying out the seeds before they take root. However, since these areas are free from rain, excess salts and minerals from the filling material may migrate to the surface of the joints, causing white efflorescence.DANSAND® NO GROW™ Joint Filling Sand has been developed to prevent weeds, but it is not a weed killer. To get hard and solid joints using DANSAND TOP LOCK/Polymeric, it is important to follow the instructions on the bag carefully. Joints should always be filled to the top, so remember to top up the joints from time to time and to keep the paving surface free from dirt and leaves. This allows for targeted protection only from unwanted plant life, with the surrounding flowers and bushes in your garden and around your paving installation completely free from environmentally unsafe chemicals or growth-inhibiting compounds. A bound substrate, such as concrete or wood, will retain moisture, rendering the binding agents in DANSAND Kerama® inactive.

This means that the plaster may absorb salts from the filling sand, leading to efflorescence which cannot be washed off. All you do is sweep area clean and spray with hose pipe then sweep of any standing water , you can just sweep the compound into the joints . Sure, you may need to re-sand the joints every two years as the vibrations from cars or heavy footfall may loosen them over time, but with such a simple brush in application, you’ll have this job done in no time at all! Also is it more difficult to brush in compares with normal kiln dried sand or should be just as easy on a dry day? With DANSAND ® NO GROW™, weeds have extremely difficult conditions to thrive – naturally and without the use harmful substances.

It is a naturally occurring phenomenon that often occurs during warm periods such as spring or early summer.
