If I was milling timber with a planer or thicknesser I would probably go for a better pair of standard ear defenders as I don't think they'd block out that rack-it sufficiently. Bluetooth connect for radio etc is great although to use the inbuilt mic for the phone it's not good, obviously your in a loud environment so it just picks up all the noise. They are not only used as working hearing protection but also perfect for mowing the lawn,sawing, woodworking, construction, snow blowing, golf course, operating heavy machinery, and so on to protect your ears.If you want ot listen to some decent music on some decent headphones and protect your ears from loud machinery, look elsewhere. I found them good while driving a noisy tractor, but I kept them on when jumping out to crosscut timber (with a 560) and damaged my hearing. They run on 2 AA batteries, I use rechargeables, and it's probably been the same pair of batteries the whole time, you get a good few days work from a charge.
