It is a smooth, creamy, odourless paint that is self-priming, self-levelling (therefore little to no brush marks) and self-sealing with excellent coverage. As Garden Shades often goes on directly to the wood, without a primer, sometimes it will soak deep into the wood and this can create the need for a third coat.

With a promise of 6 year weather protection on wooden surfaces, this water based paint takes approximately 8 hours to dry and covers up to 12m² per litre on average.

If wood has been exposed and dried out for a long period of time, this may also draw the more of the product away from the surface and into the wood structure.Available in an extensive range of cuprinol garden shades colours, it provides a beautiful overall matt finish, and contains special pigments ensuring a rich colour and allowing the natural texture of the woodgrain to shine through underneath.
