The CHERRY STREAM desktop recharge is a high-quality new addition to the STREAM Family with many valuable features for both professional and home-office use. Stauts LEDs for CAPS LOCK, NUM and SCROLL LOCK are helpful as they are integrated directly into the key, showing which status LED is activated at a glance.
We only wish that it offered more than one connectivity option – having Bluetooth connectivity, for example, seems the standard of wireless keyboards at this point – and that it came with rechargeable batteries. The STREAM duo is also a market leader in terms of environmental friendliness, and has been awarded the 'Blue Angel' and the GS mark for 'Tested Safety'.It has a matte finish, which is a nice alternative to glossy plastic, and the key caps – while thin – have a decent feel to them. Bundled in the box along with the set, as well as a USB-C cable, comes some removable and rechargeable GP ReCyko+ batteries for both peripherals. The STREAM DESKTOP RECHARGE is a nicely slim and modern looking set, especially in white, even if other reviews have complained about the thicker surrounds making it look slightly old-fashioned. During our tests, we have not experienced any lags nor missed presses, even when we’re in the zone and typing very fast.

Most important, its keys are durable and comfortable, which is ideal for someone who spends hours typing in front of a computer. The Cherry Stream Desktop keyboard and mouse combo are more about function and comfort, and less about aesthetics. One area I didn’t cover is battery life, and I can’t offer any opinion about that yet as it’s rated in months and I haven’t used this kit for very long, but I expect the trio of AA batteries (two for the keyboard, one for the mouse) to last for some time. Similarly, the mouse has an ideal weight: It lies light and secure in the hand and moves smoothly and comfortably.

As far as the mouse, it has a DPI button that will let you cycle through 3 DPI settings: 1000, 1600, and 2400 – and they are more than enough for everyday tasks. It’s a good thing, then, that this wireless keyboard from CHERRY is equipped with whisper-quiet keys. The palette takes its cues from nature and has been carefully balanced to include shades which both enhance and blend seamlessly with other fabrics in the Camira portfolio. We didn’t just throw a mouse onto the side of the STREAM keyboard, but developed one that fits the aesthetic and feels great with it. Another positive aspect is that it has been awarded the oldest of all environmental protection labels, the “Blauer Engel” .
