About this deal

The ASUS VG248QG and the AOC 24G2 are impressive for gaming, but the AOC is more versatile due to the different panel types. Another crucial thing to note regarding IPS panel displays is IPS glow, which is an expected downside of this panel technology. Ha un input lag eccezionale per un IPS (inferiore ai 4ms), e una latenza G2G regolabile attraverso la funzione Overdrive (fondamentale per il gaming).

Not all users prefer this saturated look – luckily, the AOC 24G2 has an sRGB mode, which limits the color gamut to the standard sRGB space for more accurate color reproduction. The AOC 24G2 and the Samsung C27RG5 use different panel technologies, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Menu settings aren't too difficult to go through but not the best, the buttons at the bottom of the screen are so small that someone with bigger fingers might find it a bit fiddly.

Its performance is similar to the Acer Nitro XF243Y Pbmiiprx, but the Acer has a slightly higher refresh rate, better response times, and much wider viewing angles. Forget graphical frills: this mode rewires the monitor in favour of raw response time, giving the ultimate edge in hair trigger stand offs. In fact you could very easily just use monitor straight out the box without any calibration as it only requires very slight tweaks to colour and as a tip I would personally turn the brightness down to below 50 from the default 90. I have come from a monitor that was 100 pounds more and I see no difference in my gaming scores in COD etc. I mentioned this to a friend and he told me that once you've started using a 144hz screen you'll never go back to a standard 60hz and boy was he right!

The 'Strong' setting that we recommend at max refresh rate has the fastest gray-to-gray response time at 60Hz, but its total response time is slower, and there's significantly more overshoot causing inverse ghosting. You can't get change the free sync frequency to widen it with a custom Resolution Utility for example, It's range is 48 to 144 and this is actually pretty good, lot of monitors don't even have that range. Its 24" 1080p screen doesn't feel particularly immersive, and it has narrow viewing angles that make the image look washed out from the side, which isn't ideal for sharing content with others. Personalmente, per impostare correttamente l'Overdrive, verifico prima gli FPS medi del videogame in questione, e poi imposto l'Overdrive a Medium per giocare intorno ai 60-90 fps, e a Strong per giocare intorno ai 100-144 fps. But here’s the kicker: 1080p is not very demanding on your GPU/CPU, allowing you to take full advantage of the monitor’s 144Hz refresh rate even with budget/mid-range PC builds. The AOC has a smaller screen and a lower native refresh rate, but it delivers a much cleaner gaming experience, with a significantly faster response time at any refresh rate.

Switch settings between in-built presets for FPS, racing, or RTS games, or customise your own ideal conditions and save them. There are two additional models with the ‘U’ suffix: the AOC 24G2U and the AOC 27G2U which feature a quad-USB 3.Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options.
