I loved his band of friends that helped him on his quest to find “Lulu” and I enjoyed reading about his family that molded Willem in unique ways. Then there’s comedy – we all need a laugh now and then – and Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club series tops my list this year (I’ve still to read the last one, hint hint, Santa! It’s almost like he’s f*cking her and living in her home and all around making her think they’re in an exclusive relationship).I honestly spent the whole book praying Willem didn't fall in love with another girl, when in reality it was never about that, he was learning to love himself. Bram, Willem’s father, passed away three years ago and ever since, Willem has barely spoken to his mother, Yael.

Not in the way I was saddened by Just One Day—where I had some serious case of sobbing my heart out about the smallest of things. I was hooked on this book from the hilariously quirky meet-cute to the adorably charming last line that had me grinning from ear-to-ear. The dialogue was stiff in the flow -- not the norm sizzling vibes I usually find with most of her other books. Regular readers of my reviews will know that I like historical novels, preferably ones based on fact or which take their ideas from real events, particularly, the war.Andi is always great at turning a detached character like Teagen a space to belong and turning on all your emotions for her happiness to survive. It may be the cult of personality, because unlike any other platform, the ‘leader’, Musk, posts everyday. In my case, over the years, I have relentlessly weeded out anything remotely political on my account and only interact with other authors, illustrators and publishers.

Willem's life history was kind of nice to venture, specially the parts in India as it seemed kind of familiar, being the neighboring country and all. Whereas Just One Day was told from Lulu’s perspective, in Just One Year we see how Willem felt after their one day together.

With PHP DateTime you can use methods such as ->modify() ->add() and ->sub() to manipulate the current DateTime object. I loved him in Just One Day, he was kind of mysterious and dreamy, and though you didn't know much about him, you desperately wanted more. Bram and Yael’s love story, which draws heavy parallels between that of Willem and Allyson’s, serves to strengthen our belief in the rightness of this couple. You should be warned that you aren't going to find a lot of interaction between Willem and Allyson in this book. He is strong but fragile, real but also a dreamer, it was a delight to get to know him properly in this book.
