About this deal

You don't want extra smudgy fingerprints on your canvas (or clothes or anything else for that matter! With our graphite based paper sheets, quickly copy your designs onto your craft project, making for faster and efficient artworks.

Encourage someone important in your life to create works of art that impress even themselves by sending them this superb premium set of transfer papers. Wax free Tracedown transfer paper allows a quick and simple way to copy images by placing one sheet face down between your original and the surface you want the image on and simply tracing over the original's outline (using the same principle as Carbon Paper). You may need to readjust placement of the transfer sheet if you are copying over the same exact pattern on multiple pieces to get the best use out of it. The first commercially produced transfer paper, Saral paper was developed in the 1950s by Sara “Sally” Albertis, an artist who was tired of making her own. It's similar to carbon paper, which was used a lot in the "old days" for record-keeping purposes, but is not used as often now. This method works best with drawings on thin ml paper, such as tracing vellum or standard drawing paper. But because it is less messy than graphite paper and leaves a more durable mark, it is popular with crafters. Simply slip a sheet of graphite paper between your image and the drawing surface with the graphite-covered side facing downward, then use a sharp-tipped pencil or pen to trace over the contours of the image. I no longer needed to constantly prove my drawing skills with every single artwork that I made, so I felt comfortable transitioning to the use of artist graphite paper.

This transfer paper should be sandwiched between your design image paper (regular copy paper with your design printed on it) and the pottery you want to trace/transfer that image to. While carbon paper leaves lines that stay put, graphite transfer paper, which is unwaxed, lays down a line that’s erasable.I would not recommend using carbon paper for art-transfer purposes because it's coated with wax which makes it difficult to erase (because the carbon copy was meant to last a long time). Simply lay the transfer paper between the image to be copied and the drawing/watercolour paper and outline the image with a pencil etc.

Each sheet of graphite transfer paper leaves no unwanted marks on hands or surfaces to provide you with a mess-free application. They are made with sufficient layers of graphite to result in good, crisp transfers, yet the material doesn’t leave a frustrating amount of residue on your hands, nor smudge on surfaces like canvas. Be careful to only lift up a tiny piece, because you don't want to throw everything out of alignment. Be sure to trace all the contours (outlines) of all the objects, as well as all the shadows and highlights.curtisward brings you a hand-picked selection of quality art and craft materials from leading manufacturers. So, if you are keen to speed up your practice, get started the easy way or just want to quickly transfer a drawing or photo to canvas or paper, let’s talk about how graphite transfer paper might just be your new best friend.
