About this deal

Seventh Tree is the fourth studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp, released on 22 February 2008 by Mute Records. silent under the needle in the interims, and the music is all where it should be in terms of detail and power.

Each Goldfrapp album is like a different wardrobe to wear and Seventh Tree presents it's own unique weaving of colorful fabrics and cloths. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Alison Goldfrapp described the album as a 'sensual counterpoint to the glitterball glamour of 'Supernature'', their previous studio album from 2005.an album as hummably lovely as it is knowingly referencing of a certain tradition of neo-psychedelic English whimsy. So is Little Birds, another fantastic song, this time with intelligible lyrics and an unexpected Strawberry Fields Forever-ish coda. After spending years on the dancefloor with Black Cherry and Supernature, Goldfrapp take a breather with Seventh Tree. Road to Somewhere and Some People veer close to bucolic easy listening: they're a bit middle of the public bridleway. John Murphy of musicOMH viewed it as Goldfrapp's "most subtle, affecting and rewarding album to date" and compared it to Kate Bush and the Cocteau Twins.

This is not Goldfrapp Unplugged, although acoustic guitars and strings waft in and out of the album effortlessly - if anything, Seventh Tree's electro hippie-chic is the duo's most polished and luxe work yet. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. As our old chum John Thomas might have told us, an artist given to the sudden musical volte-face is impossible to predict. It's also a move that few who came in during the last album would've imagined, but in the grand scheme of all things Goldfrapp, it makes perfect sense. As sad as it will be to see some parts of the Goldfrapp sound disappear, I am excited and thrilled at the prospect of what they might deliver next.

As you might expect from a woman who chose to illustrate her conjunction of electronic music and eroticism by playing a synthesiser with her private parts, Seventh Tree is not overly coyin signposting its new approach. Quite what the lyrics are driving at remains a mystery - they could just be a load of old bollerghs - but notice of a musical volte-face is duly served.
