I found the sweeter flavours like watermelon and mango a little artificial but the citruses and the cucumber were delicious. The eco credentials seem impressive at first glance: it’s made of 90 per cent recycled stainless steel and comes in completely recyclable packaging. This could be because overtightening may strip the screw top, but we think it has more to do with how the collar and cap interact. I like the textured feel of the bottle, which makes it a little less slippery than some steel options and prevents it feeling too cold or hot to the touch.

Founded in 2010 by James Butterfield and Tim Bouscarle, Chilly’s mission is to accelerate the adoption and everyday use of reusable products by combining high-performance technology with eco-friendly benefits. The lid on the series 1 Chilly’s cup will prevent major spills, but we can’t expect zero leaks as there is a sip hole opening. It promises to retain the temperature of cold drinks for 12 hours and iced drinks for 40 and I’ve also found it to be an excellent option for a keeping my morning cuppa warm.

The loop handle also makes it easy to carry around the gym and it’s sturdy enough that it doesn’t flip back and bonk your nose as you drink. The mug is thermally insulated, keeping coffee warm for up to 90 minutes, more than enough time to get through your morning latte. As long as you’re fine to carry the Chilly’s Flip bottle by the loop, or have a rucksack with a side pocket, this is an otherwise great water bottle both for the office and working out.

Oh, and if you do fancy a coffee, you can take the detachable loose leaf tea infuser out – and the mug will fit under most coffee machines. Colours: Black and pink, black and mustard, black and blue, cream and black, cream and green, cream and blue. The fact you can block the drinking hole means it also won’t leak when you do stash it in your briefcase. The natural filter system works via a traditional Japanese Binchotan Charcoal filter stick which is supposed to sit in a dip inside the bottle, locked into place, although it’s impossible to actually place it when you can’t get your hands inside the bottle. Luckily it can just be chucked into the dishwasher, although the trigger lid occasionally requires a little more intense scrubbing.
