About this deal

If you’re looking for maximum softness and enjoy features such as a plush feel under your feet and protection from impact, try shoes with the most cushioning.

Given that this shoe is targeted towards beginners or more maintained trails, it makes sense that the traction is more minimal and flexible over a wide variety of terrain. I find the Topo a bit thin in the forefoot for true ultra distance territory, so I’ve been using it for easy miles, casual use and hiking. A shoe that enjoys great adaptability to propel you in your first steps on the most uneven terrain, here are all the details. Being an avid wearer of Brooks shoes and trainers in general, I found the fitting true to size in length, with half sizes available, though marginally wider than other shoes which may be problematic without my Profeet custom insoles to help hold my foot in place.

Jeff V: The TrailTak outsole strikes a perfect balance of all around road versatility to rough trail/off trail capability. Follow myself and the select few who contribute on our journey to help you understand your body and the shoes you wear. Some more advanced users may find the stiffness limiting on more technical terrain, but this is a great option for roads, gravel, and light trail without spending top dollar. Jeff V: The Divide 3 has dropped a few grams, has a more generous toe box, yet has a far superior and secure upper. TrailTack rubber traction underfoot provides a reliable feel so you can venture offroad with confidence, with high surface area lugs that helps you adapt to uneven terrain and a resilient non-skid rubber helps navigate inclines and descents with ease.I would not consider them for racing, but I will absolutely utilize them to eat up training miles and prepare my legs for race day. With the familiar fit of a road-running shoe plus trail-ready traction, this shoe is designed to help you embrace new terrain in total comfort.

Sliding my foot into the Divide 3 is pure comfort and joy, feeling well cushioned, well padded, exceptionally comfortable, with a roomy toe box, yet secure fit and optimal lacing. We have cautioned newer runners to stay away from super shoes, plated shoes and those that may greatly alter mechanics for several reasons. Coming to the forefoot, the shoe has a relatively low volume whilst widening out just enough to allow you a generous splay through foot planting, allowing a holistic and hybrid fit to the foot like a road trainer.I do find the Divide 3 to be a bit more trail capable with superior security, traction and are just more fun to run. Based in temperate southern Oregon, Annie has year-round access to marvelous trail systems and public lands that she shares with more wildlife than she does people … the perfect paradise. While the Divide 3 lacks this element, perhaps that’s part of its appeal, to those who are attracted to the road-shoe appearance and feel. There are also minor grooves along the edge to aid flexibility - it makes sense to have a few more on the lateral side as that is generally the landing side.
