About this deal

When I saw the previews I had my eye on the Ruska Knot Dress, the Solina Dress, and the Saraste shirt dress. Platkin received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a law degree from Fordham University, a Master of Public Health from Florida International University, and a Ph.

My Ruska Knot Dress uses the turtleneck that is paired with the Ruska knit dress in the Breaking the Pattern book. of length to the bodice portion of the pattern piece and take the sides from the bust down back to a size 5. I love this book and the stylish patterns-I wouldn't say that it's a great book for a beginner but it's got lots of lovely projects for anyone who wants to get into sewing a more tailored wardrobe. For the outside zipper pocket, I made a welt opening, with a piece of exterior fabric, and I just stitched one layer of lining fabric to the exterior fabric behind the zipper, following the pattern of the fabric. Also, I feel that it deserves a bit of attention as the pattern I see mentioned most from this book is the Solina dress (which was also my first stop), and this is an interesting design too, so here we go! Improve your sewing expertise as you work through the book – with new techniques introduced project-by-project – and use the six essential building blocks to choose, customise and adapt the designs to create a variety of beautiful clothes to fit your figure. Breaking the Pattern is the first authentic dressmaking book that showcases the beauty of Nordic style. And, if a lie-flat spine is too expensive, how about just a ribbon at least, to easily hold the page with the instructions you need!

I’m going to wear it a bit to decide whether the vents are comfortable and make a decision for my next one. I'd make this again with the sizing tweaks but think next time I'd use a fabric that was ever so slightly sturdier to hold the ties and collar and bit better.

He has also appeared on NBC's The Today Show, ABC News Nightline, National Public Radio, CNN, CNBC, CBS's The Early Show, the BBC, and others. Using the book again reminded me that while I’m besotted with the patterns, there were a few issues with using the book.

Then I went back to the beginning of the book and realized there are several standing pictures of this tunic hidden in the Nummi tote bag chapter! This fabric is chestnut peachskin which I bought in a little splurge at Fabric Godmother literally days before last year's Black Friday. It was at this point the dress ended up in the wip box, as although I had adjusted the waist seam, the dress still was sitting oddly. My Ruska Knot Dress is a size 6, which is actually one size larger than the size I have sewn for the woven patterns I have made from Breaking the Pattern. There seems to be a slit in all the patterns, but they’re easy enough to eliminate (not really my thing!

Platkin has been quoted as a health expert in thousands of publications, including USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, Oprah, Time, Newsweek, Ladies Home Journal, Men's Health, Shape, Self and Fitness. Adopting a viable option may be much better for you and your situation than sticking with a routine for tradition’s sake.
