We purchased it for our soon to be born Niece and I'm sure her parents will love reading stories to her from this book until she is old enough to read them herself. The trade-off for that of course is that few of the stories can amount to more than that weirdness, but given their length that's probably fine. She is well known for picture books like Amazing Grace and its sequels and the YA sequence Stravaganza as well as historical fiction like The Falconer's Knot and information book like The Great Big Book of Families.

I’m… probably going to read that again before the book club meeting to see if I want to discuss anything from that angle. It was a thick book full of classic fairytales and realistic illustrations that accompanied the stories. This beautiful children's story treasury brings together 14 classic children's fairy tales and 17 well-known myths and legends from around the world in one magical collection. All the same, these are classics, and considering how often they are referenced in other books and movies, it was good to have read them firsthand.
