About this deal

Not terribly long lasting rather a fine cologne and still very interesting for its dance between feminine and masculine impressions. Then, after an hour or so, you get slight vibes of animalic notes, but the rose is still there, just softer, lighter. I'd even argue that certain turned bottles may seem a bit more animalic because of whatever chemical degradation had done to the bases: it's just a theory. I want to get that out of the way, because they indicate something approaching beast mode, which I certainly do not get, but that might just be my nose.

A900 lacks the musks/leather of Aramis, and viceversa, Aramis doesn't have as much resins and spices. It smells better after an hour or two but the strength is so weak at that point that it's not worth it. There are so many notes at play here, it's hard to pick a particular one out of the fold, but generally though they blend together nicely. Although I (46 years young) love this scent, this type of juice is not the typical modern designer scent that the younger crowd might find sexy. Aramis 900 is far more herbal than Aramis, and it does have strong similarities to Aromatics Elixir, but Aromatics Elixir also has very strong notes that makes it smell feminine to my nose. They're completely undiluted and of the highest possible concentration to give the utmost longevity - one 10ml bottle can last at least a couple of months. Top notes are coriander, green notes, bergamot, brazilian rosewood and lemon, middle notes are carnation, orris root, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, rose and geranium, base notes are sandalwood, amber, patchouli, civet, oakmoss and vetiver. I don’t usually think of EL as the company to turn gender norms upside-down, but in designating AE as the huge, take-it-or-leave-it bruiser, and A900 as the paler and quieter of the pair, Bernard Chant is giving us a functional instruction on gender in the Gemaine Cellier tradition: knock it out for the women and dilute it for the men. Said that, the rest of the composition is a great floral-spicy chypre with a remarkable patchouli note.

My first impression is that of a perfume made in Ireland; Fraoch by BRIAN VINCENT - not in the Fragrantica data base. In my memory , Devin was louder , more herbal , "grassier" than Aliage, more pine , it smelt the thick green grass , whereas Aliage is drier ( to my nose ) .

A friend gave me a bottle of this very familiar, EDT in 2006 after he said it turned to “cat pee” on him. I wish they would have kept the original packaging, as it makes the new re-packaged bottle look cheap!

A well blended classic Very Warm , very herbel yet a masculine WINTER fragrance which separates mature people from Young men league. While Aramis 900 is often dismissed as an "old man" cologne by kids today, bear this in mind: when 900 was first introduced, it certainly wasn't targeting old men. I think it would be a great idea to have separate reviews for the Originals produced with natural ingredients(a. The opening really smells like you're gently crushing the soft, powdery petals of a luscious young rose between your fingers.I could see dudes applying their 20 sprays all over their hairy chest rocking their sparkling gold chain, bell bottom "slacks" and 10 inch shirt collars.

This certainly is not only or just a rose fragrance; there is much more going on, and it is all very good! Aramis 900 was one of the first of Bernard Chant's compositions that is a modulation of a previous release marketed to gents, here following the success of Aromatics Elixir two years prior. For some reason I find myself comparing other frangrances with this as if it were a benchmark to judge by.Fresh citrus and crushed herbs that turn into a musky, ALMOST musty, rose, and finally, the herbaceous and civet-y woodiness.
