The Anker SoundCore Life P2 Truly Wireless are similar to the Anker SoundCore Liberty Air Truly Wireless. Unfortunately, unlike the Anker SoundCore Liberty Air 2 or the Anker SoundCore Life P3 Truly Wireless, the Life P2 don't have a dedicated companion app. EQ Modes: Soundcore Signature, the default EQ, delivers well-balanced sound, while Bass Booster enhances bass-heavy music, and Podcast makes voices stand out clearly.
We've added a comparison between these headphones and the Skullcandy Dime 3 True Wireless in Bluetooth. The ultra-compact and lightweight buds themselves are a standard minimalist design with short protruding stems and an all-plastic frame. This app lets you activate a low-latency gaming mode, change controls, and enter a sleep mode with all kinds of soothing sound effects. The earbuds stay in the ear well enough for running but fall out of my ears with more vigorous workouts. Fortunately, we’re at a true wireless apex, and it seems there are fine options everywhere you look. Since they don't have active noise cancellation (ANC), these headphones only block ambient noises passively. In my opinion, this provides no added value, as the basic sound of the Soundcore by Anker Life P2 Mini is already powerful and defined. Conversely, the Life P2 support the aptX Bluetooth codec and have much lower latency on mobile Android and iOS devices.
With this great capacity, it would have been neat to see dual-charging capabilities like the JLab Epic Air Sport ANC. The earbuds themselves feel just as well-built as the Anker SoundCore Liberty Air 2, but with physical buttons instead of a touch-sensitive surface. If you’re in a pinch, you can always rely on quick charging to provide an hour of playback after just 10 minutes.
The Anker have a better-balanced sound profile, a much longer continuous battery life, and a case that holds five additional charges.
There are also a few peaks in the higher frequencies, though these are in high enough ranges that they shouldn't be audible to most people. With a lightweight and ergonomic design, these earbuds provide a comfortable fit that stays securely in place, even during the most intense workouts or outdoor activities. If you're looking for similar headphones with better recording quality, see the Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 Truly Wireless or the Boltune BT-BH024 Truly Wireless. The group delay is below the audibility threshold for the entire range, ensuring a tight bass and transparent treble reproduction. That said, the treble emphasis is detrimental to the song: finger snaps are incredibly clear but made it difficult for me to focus on Baker’s vocals during the choruses.
They are matte with a shiny back inlay in the middle, and the top of the stem is connected to an oval in-ear piece we now see on so many wireless earbuds.
