The series is written by Skybound founder Robert Kirkman, with art by Lorenzo De Felici, colors by Matheus Lopes, and lettering by Rus Wooton. Ed Dukeshire’s lettering is superb, to the point where a page of mostly static panels are rendered full of life with his well-placed sfx. Void Rivals was already destined to be one of the biggest comic book releases of 2023, as it's the latest collaboration between Oblivion Song creators Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici. Our main characters are space-marooned on some desolate planet, and although they are from the aforementioned warring factions, the only way they can survive is by working together. So, we know everything that they're capable of doing and we know all the ins and outs of how they work and what they love doing.That those "entirely new concepts" happen to be co-created by the man behind the wildly successful Walking Dead franchise might be the icing on the cake, but it's some pretty exciting icing for a lot of people, I suspect. And will sparks fly with O blivion Song star Jake Gyllenhaalso he can reunite the band by starring in the feature film version of Void Rivals?
