About this deal

I used over 800 measurement point which was enough to compute the sound field of the speaker within 1% error. The sound produced by the Edifier R1280T has a strong lower end that you can feel through the little port grille on top of each one. However, the 1280DB's slightly larger subwoofer allows it to produce an even stronger bass. The bass sounds great, but it can be overpowering at high volumes.

The bass and treble knobs are more subtle than many EQ controls, which is a good thing. The drivers also offer a fairly flat response in the neutral default setting, so adding some bass will likely be a move many listeners will go for. Even with the bass knob fully turned up, the increase doesn't throw off the balance of most mixes we tested with too dramatically. You can easily boost the bass significantly and the treble only marginally and still maintain a sense of balance between the two. You can find low-cost speakers that perform well, but paying more generally results in a richer audio experience. Such is the case with these Edifier speakers. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. The remote sensing technology used in these speakers is quite strong, that you can use them from another room. The volume buttons on the remote work perfectly. However, if you want to control the speakers’ bass and treble, they are located on the side of the big speaker. Compatibility What surprised us is how well these speakers kept up during testing. We spent about a week with these going through our daily life. We put them through tests that ranged from our morning routine playing pump-up top 40 music to quiet, acoustic wind-down music at night. In our tests, we ran these at only about half volume which was more than enough to fill our apartment. As far as connectivity and outputs are concerned, the Edifier 1280DB and 1280DBs have an advantage over the older 1280T and 1280Ts models. The DB and DBs models are designed as an upgrade from the older models, meaning they have a greater range of connectivity and features.

Speakers help you enhance the quality of your PC or laptop’s audio. Most computer systems don’t come equipped with external speakers, keeping you from getting the best experience while watching your favorite movies. At this point, I thought that if there was a tool that combined both the Spinorama with the room acoustics data, it'd be extremely useful. This product can be seen as very reliable when it comes to its performance. The product provides you with a very high-quality sound that can be easy compared to a home theatre. Despite its retro look, the audio speakers in this device are quite modern with advanced technology used. The action scenes in The Mandalorian are just as epic-sounding, though perhaps ever so slightly more compressed and distorted in the mids. The sound imaging is impressive though – you can actually hear where the blasters, stomps, and explosions are coming from. Even the movement of an elevator closing is apparent. Plus, there’s the tiniest bit of rumble when the Dark Troopers are marching in the last episode of season 2. Because, other parameters such as the age/materials of the building, furniture/windows in place also have an impact on room acoustics.HIGH QUALITY: The stylish classic wooden enclosure minimised acoustic resonance and further reduces distortion. The classic design complements any home decor. FYI here is a review of a similar model, different tweeter but you get the idea that perhaps Edifier makes some decent stuff in their line.
