About this deal

Overall I think it's a great pick for young men in their late teens up to early-mid 20s but doesn't suit an older man like me at all because after a couple sprays I smell like I'm an old man desperately trying to be "young and cool" again like the Steve Buscemi meme where he's dressed youthfully and holding a skateboard saying "How Do You Do, Fellow Kids? The drydown is woody, moderatly sweet and slightly resinous and I get some woodiness, resins and patchouli. The salty sea note lasts for a few hours, but pulls back after 15-30 minutes to balance out with everything well. Haters are just a bunch of hipsters who rather would smell like burnt rubber, dirt and old shrimps than something real people enjoy.

This starts with a blast of seaweed (which isn't so much aquatic as it is aquatic adjacent), mixed with patchouli, and then dries down into a sweeter amber. The opening is citrusy, aquatic, woody, bright, and intense; dry-down is mostly woody, with light aquatic and faint citrus touches. The variant of the cult Acqua di Gio men's fragrance in the Absolute version was presented in 2018, and the 2019 edition brings a new wave of citrus, marine, aromatic and woody tones. A shame really because this didn't smell bad overall, but that amber wood note just stuck out like a sore thumb and made my face scrunch up.

This Eau de Parfum opens with a fresh gust of ocean surf in combination with juicy fruit and citrus essences.

If you are a person that cannot tolerate the ADG profile in the opening, I recommend layering it with John Varvatos Vintage, which is a good scent for fall and spring time. It's a compliment magnet and seems to have nefariously good longevity, maybe it does smell a big generic but it's just so well done! The quality is there, thankfully, but I think they were trying to pull the "wood" over our eyes with this one. Personally it's another dime a dozen semi sweet blue men's fragrance that's getting by on the Armani designer label. Not a one to one comparison but Absolu Instinct shares a lot of similarities with Heritage by Guerlain, especially in the dry down. This is a world seen through the eyes of Giorgio Armani, where the alliance of water and wood takes us on a journey into timeless masculinity, embracing a deeper overall consciousness. The woods are also noticeable, they create a slightly resinous, ambery sweet, and fine wood-like scent. it has a nice woody sweet scent to it and it doesn't smell like alcohol at all when you first spray it which is always good. Yeah, I’m with a couple of reviewers, seriously not sure why this gets a lot of hate, and I don’t think this is anywhere close to generic.

The pear and apple in the beginning keep it lightly sweet and fresh in the opening with the amber wood and patchouli in the background keeping it balanced with a little darkness and depth. But if you want to think of this in terms of Invictus, think of a more complex and fruity version of it, with a bit less sweetness. It's perfectly fine for a year-round, mass-pleasing fragrance, but I just can't get past that drydown, and I think I have enough "dumb grab" bottles in my collection now to where this one wouldn't serve me. This impacts the ability of the fragrance to last and around eighty percent of the oils in an EDT fragrance will evaporate within three hours of application. These fragrances are often constructed in a different manner to the traditional French Model and are formulated in one single burst. This could be signature-worthy for someone who wanted to stand out from the crowd but still smell crowd-pleasing.

GIORGIO ARMANI ACQUA DI GIO ABSOLU, the new creation of the Acqua di Gio fragrance line, is the work of the Master perfumer Alberto Morillas.Copying or inspired by is a compliment, and invictus brings in the money cause it smells great to people who are not against it from the start or have to be wearing Niche. Woods overdose and ambery addictive warmness of labdanum resinoid blow masculinity and character to the fragrance in the base. It opens up with like semi sweet fresh citrusy, fruity , green and floral notes in the background then dry down is sweet ambery, woody.
