About this deal

If the Chinese wants to do it and made the effort to do so, they can hit the high quality standards that we enjoyed in products from Europe and Japan. does not come with a hood but with a lens so nicely compact, I’m not sure if I would even use the hood that much. It is my largest lens review…it may actually be my largest review ever with more photos than I have ever used in any review. I have lost count over how many versions there are of Cheecar's products on auction sites - you will probaby know that manufacturer for its "Fujian" brand lenses, but watch and count how many other "Brands" of the same lens you can see.

So that’s that, I feel like it’s a little cheaper than a Rokinon / Samyang lens because their lenses at least go a few months before falling apart. Most retro lenses that are 25mm or in that range just outright suck, and anything by Fujifilm, Sony, or even Rokinon is four times as much money. I like this focal length for my day to day because it is still a standard lens as in they are close to human’s eyes focal length, but just a bit wider than a 50mm.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It’s like having a Chinese copy of a Russian copy of a Japanese copy of a beautiful vintage German lens.

The size and weight of the SL (and the dedicated lenses) compared to the M10 is holding me back from giving it a try (and i love RFs). Of course when I shot film and used full-manual gear, there wasn’t any magnification, or much of anything to tell you if you had focused correctly (just that circle in the middle). Wilson Wong is a self taught photographer whose works are featured in Nikon Club Editor's Choice Selection, NTUC Youth Calendar, Eye the City Exhibition/Books and was featured in Magazines. As you can see from the three panel image above, the 7artisans is much brighter, than the other two lenses.

To aid focussing (the eyes are getting old) I put a Tarion TR-V2 on the back which I found to be a great idea if you don,t mind covering a few buttons on my E-PL1. But in normal shooting situations, I don’t know if you would even see the vignetting much once you start stopping down. Macro review, and I will post it in the beginning of next week but now, I’m going to talk to you a little about the Photoelectric 25mm f1. It’s possibly the least expensive lens option for your Fujifilm X camera, as I don’t know of any that are cheaper; however, this is a lens that you could capture some great pictures with because it has very sharp glass. At first I thought it was due to the 7artisans’ rear lens cap design, but oem Fuji caps do not securely stay on either.

If you are on the market for a cheap manual prime lens, it is certainly an amazing lens if it works. Overall, this lens is a value for money and a lot better than old manual focus lenses adapted on Fuji X cameras. Even though the 7artisans lens is not in the same league as some of the lens manufacturers, it is sharp where it matters. You’re really getting what you pay for with this lens, but the optical formula is fantastic if you don’t mind some vignetting, distortion, and corner softness.Other characteristics worth mentioning is that there is some barrel distortion, and some noticeable vignetting.

I don’t get the benefit of changing the aperture smoothly and quietly but I get all the bollocks about accidentally nudging it. Even though the lens is not exactly a focal length that street photographers would use, it does provide a different feel to a place like a couple chatting inside of Owndays. The rear design of the lens has a bad design and rear lens caps do not securely lock and stay on, often falling off when in your camera bag. This lens also has a focus ring that floats with a bit of resistance but is not as tight as the 25mm.It can be used on full-frame cameras like the Sony A7r III, but it will only have a circle of projection large enough to cover the APS-C portion of the sensor and you would need to put the camera in Super 35mm crop mode. Made mostly in metal, the lenses are solidly built that have that bit of heft without feeling heavy in practical use. I opted for the silver version and it came with a matching silver bayonet lens hood (purchased via Aliexpress).
