About this deal

When a unit Falls Back, each model in that unit can make a Fall Back move by moving a distance in inches less than or equal to its Move characteristic, and when doing so you can move it within Engagement Range of enemy models, provided it does not end that move within Engagement Range of any enemy models – if this is not possible, that unit cannot Fall Back. Even heavily armoured warriors unfazed by small arms fire are thankful for such cover when foes bring their biggest guns to bear. If anything, my initial reaction was that the larger maximum unit size on Guard (10 vs 6) might tip things in their favour by helping to maximize the effect of character buffs. Until the start of your next Command phase, that unit benefits from that stance, instead of the active ka’tah stance(s) of your army. To break their vows would be worse than death to these warriors, and their determination to uphold them bolsters their already formidable wills to something of truly frightening intensity.

While they don’t have access to Storm Shields, Wardens get some more durability at least in this regard. Models can move over objective markers as if they were not there, but they cannot end a move on top of an objective marker. Models cannot be set up or end a Normal, Advance or Fall Back move within Engagement Range of any enemy models. FLY models ignore vertical distances when they make a Normal Move, an Advance or when they Fall Back. By default, this will be an armour saving throw using their model’s Save (Sv) characteristic, but some models have invulnerable saves that can be used instead (see below).Upon accepting the robes that mark their station they swear binding oaths to fight as immovable sentinels, a living fortress of auramite and sinew that no foe will ever breach. This aggressive fighting style has been adapted for the Custodes to deal with hordes of foes who vastly outnumber them. As well as this, 1 model can be assembled as a Vexilus Praetor – along with the standard weapon choices he carries a splendid ornate Vexilla.

Do not make a Wound roll or saving throw (including invulnerable saving throws) against a mortal wound – just allocate it as you would any other attack and inflict damage to a model in the target unit as described below. When a unit makes a Normal Move, each model in that unit can move a distance in inches equal to or less than the Move (M) characteristic shown on its datasheet, but no model can be moved within Engagement Range of enemy models. Wardens come armed with a Castellan Axe and a Misericordia, with the option to trade out the axe for the Guardian Spear. In the following Fight phase, both units will be eligible to fight, but Model A’s unit will not count as having charged that turn. If you do, in the Reinforcements step of one of your Movement phases you can set up this unit anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 9" horizontally away from all enemy models.

If that ADEPTUS CUSTODES unit is not within Engagement Range of any other enemy units, it can shoot as if it were your Shooting phase, but it can only target that enemy unit.

TARGET: One ADEPTUS CUSTODES INFANTRY unit from your army (excluding ANATHEMA PSYKANA units) that was selected as the target of one or more of that enemy unit’s attacks. When a unit makes a Normal move, each model in that unit can move a distance in inches less than or equal to its Move (M) characteristic, but no model can be moved within Engagement Range of any enemy models. Rapid fire weapons are versatile armaments capable of aimed single shots at long range or controlled bursts of fire at close quarters. Each mortal wound inflicts one point of damage on the target unit, and they are always applied one at a time. WHEN: In any phase, just after you have made a Hit roll, a Wound roll, a Damage roll, a saving throw, an Advance roll, a Charge roll, a Desperate Escape test, a Hazardous test, or just after you have rolled the dice to determine the number of attacks made with a weapon, for an attack, model or unit from your army.

Misericordia: (melee) S: user, AP: -2, D: 1, Each time the bearer fights, it can make 1 additional attack with this weapon unless it is also equipped with a Storm Shield.

In this step, you must take a Battle-shock test for each of your units on the battlefield that is Below Half-strength. Just as their weapons and armour have always been fashioned to reflect his martial glory, so too are the proud standards known as vexillas, which are borne to war by some of the most veteran Custodians. The destroyed model can fight after the attacking model’s unit has finished making attacks, and is then removed from play. In battle, they deploy highly flexible fighting forces, from peerless infantry and lightning-fast jetbikes to indomitable combat walkers and line-shattering battle tanks. If a unit fails a Morale test, then after the first model has fled the unit, you must take Combat Attrition tests.
